We can't say No Doubt 's new single, "Settle Down" has us excited for their long-in-the-works comeback album Push and Shove , but Major Lazer's involvement in the second single and title cut is certainly enough to have us reevaluate. "Push and Shove," for better or worse, uses one of Gwen Stefani's unhinged wails for a brostep dropped hook — it basically sounds like a maximalist Major Lazer track, only with less twerkable fire. "Push and Shove", the title track from No Doubt 's forthcoming album, premiered this morning on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, and apparently the band considers it their "Bohemian Rhapsody". After making people collectively go insane at the Mad Decent Block Parties this past weekend, Diplo decided to unleash his remix of No Doubt's comeback single, "Settle Down". He got to work on the track under his Major Lazer alias, which is pretty much just him at this point as Switch's involvement is all but finished. But that's OK, but Diplo clearly knows how to throw loads of skyscraper-esque bass and synthesizers into a track and make it his own electro dance party. Snoop Dogg recently announced that he was making a full-length reggae with the help of Diplo , and even went on a trip to Jamaica to embrace the reggae lifestyle. The result was Snoop Dogg changing his name to Snoop Lion, embracing the title given to him by the rastafari. Diplo 's Major Lazer has remixed Hot Chip 's latest single from their great In Hour Heads album, "Look At Where We Are." We, no doubt, enjoy the dubby swagger and the rallying phasers injected into the song, but our favorite moment in the remix is when Alexis Taylor's voice is isolated in the middle and the Major lets the song's gorgeous melody run through unadulterated. Brazilian baile funk crew Bonde Do Rolê share another banger off their upcoming Diplo and Poolside produced Tropicalbacanal LP, this time it's a Das Racist -featuring jam appropriately called "Bang." Sleigh Bells  opened for the Chili Peppers the other week at the Well and after their performance, it was agreed that they are possibly one of the worst/most overhyped bands right now. Their music is just noise with a decent looking shit singing over it. It sounds like revved up dirt bikes, not music. But when I see Diplo  attached to a remix, I have to check it out. I'm sure there are others like me, so let's try to see if one of the best producers in the music scene can make these shlubs sound better.

After traveling together on the Paradise Lost tour, Diplo has decided to remix the Sleigh Bells banger, "Demons". Challenging himself with an array of futuristic synthesizers, the esteemed producer transforms the Reign of Terror single effortlessly into a crunk jam.
