Dirty Projectors return this week with a new 123 featuring three remixes of Swing Lo Magellan standout "The Socialites". Contributors include Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, FaltyDL, and rising UK pop duo AlunaGeorge , whose extra sensual reworking is heavy on vocal distortions and laser beams. Take a listen below. Snoop Lion recently released  Reincarnated , the first album under his new animal moniker, solidifying that, yes indeed, the name is  here to stay . "No Regrets" is one of the LP's bonus cuts and features T.I. and The Dirty Projectors ' own Amber Coffman . Produced by Major Lazer and Ariel Rechstaid, the jam's got a slow and simmering bounce. Following in the footsteps of their fellow Brooklynites Grizzly Bear , Dirty Projectors is the latest band to remix Phoenix' s "Entertainment" . Instead of trying to turn the song into some glitchy drum and bass-esque anthem, the Projectors merely emphasized various aspects of the riotous electro-rock jam, turning up the synth till it vibrates, chopping and screwing the vocals a bit, and throwing in some handclaps for good measure. It's sort of like listening to the original during a mild blizzard or after slamming some low-grade DayQuil. Hear it for yourself below.

While multiple delays mean Major Lazer' s sophomore album, Free the Universe , still hasn't seen the light of day, at least the Diplo-led production project is providing fans with new tunes to ease the wait. Keeping up with the promise of three mixtapes before the new record drops, volume two of the Lazer Strikes Back EP series has just been released. Australian radio station Triple J recently welcomed Dirty Projectors to their studio for an interview and the chance to cover a song of their choice as part of the station's  Like A Version series. Here's just the thing for the dog days of summer: A pair of very cool, highly original releases out (today) Tuesday from Dirty Projectors and Dusted . The albums feel like they fall at the opposite ends of some musical spectrum. Dirty Projectors' Swing Lo Magellan  is full of complicated musical arrangements borrowing from many genres, while Dusted's Total Dust is best described as super lo-fi. Both are highly recommended. Fans of Dirty Projectors know the very distinct sound of this band but there are some twists and turns on [...]

Dirty Projectors recently performed a live session for Seattle radio studio KEXP, where they debuted more new cuts from their upcoming LP Swing Lo Magellan : "Offspring Are Blank" and "The Socialites". As was the case for their recent appearance on Late Show with Jimmy Fallon , the band was joined by Wye Oak' s Jenn Wasner, who contributed backing vocals.
