![WATCH TAME IMPALA COVER AN OUTKAST SLOW JAM [VIDEO]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4930324_lg.jpg)
Yesterday, Australian radio station, Triple J, invited Tame Impala into the studio to perform for their "Live A Version" cover series . This is the same series in which Sharon Van Etten covered Nick Cave , MS MR covered LCD Soundsystem , Dirty Projectors covered Usher , and so on. Tame Impala selected Outkast's the R&B jam "Prototype" from 20032s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below and stick close to the original, which is not an easy task when taking on the super groovy Andre 3000. It's [...]
Any day that goes by without even so much as a transient burst of David Longstreth's Dirty Projectors is one which somehow leaves me feeling strangely unfulfilled. And truth be known, I've thus far this year rather neglected Swing Lo Magellan so it's something of a saving grace that they released this one over the weekend. There's A Fire originally featured as the flipside to a limited white label release of Offspring Are Blank pressed especially to coincide with a show at New York's Carnegie Hall last month, and it's one to really rekindle [...]
It's quite unmistakably en vogue to go reworking contemporary R'n'B tracks at the minute and whether that be David Longstreth's Dirty Projectors giving Usher's heady Climax a mildly radical once-over or AlunaGeorge redoing Frank Ocean's Thinkin Bout You, the results can prove somewhat inconclusive. So when 4AD's Montréal duo Purity Ring took to Soulja Boy's Grammy in the wake of the awards of the same name, the jury was bound to take its sweet time about it. Of course elements of hip hop, post-R'n'B , and so forth all factored into the making of Megan James and [...]

We've been enthusiastically touting the music of Rodriguez since his lost classic debut Cold Fact was re-released by Light In The Attic back in 2008. Last year, the singer-songwriter's remarkable story got a major boost thanks to the fantastic Oscar-nominated documentary Searching for Sugar Man , which has earned heaps of accolades and has again revived interest in not only his recordings but also as a live act. Yesterday, Rolling Stone broke the news that the now 70-year-old Rodriguez will likely head into the studio for the first time [...]

While Dirty Projectors where in Aussieland last week, they stopped by Triple J and recorded a cover of Usher’s instant classic “Climax”. This re-do features gorgeous layered melodies with a simple backbeat that provide multiple eargasms. In the rawest of settings, the band proves yet again how magnificent they can be.
Who'd ever have thought that we'd see Dirty Projectors covering Usher ? We didn't, but hey ho, here it is. The Dave Longstreth-led take on the tea-cosy wearer 's comeback track, 'Climax', is above.

Though I don’t believe I have written about them before I am a big fan of Dirty Projectors, especially since the release of their latest album 'Swing Lo Magellan' . Now the Dirty Projectors have done something that made me love them more, they covered a R&B song brilliantly. If you’re reading the blog more often you know I’m into R&B, and mainly the somewhat indie or underground R&B, so a cover of Usher’s Climax by this NY-based indie act for Triple J radio’s 'Like A Version' is [...]

Australian radio station Triple J recently welcomed Dirty Projectors to their studio for an interview and the chance to cover a song of their choice as part of the station's Like A Version series. The group chose to perform a pared down and beautifully harmonic cover of R&B 'superstar', Usher 's 2012 hit, Climax . Check it out below: Proof you a polish a turd? [...]

The 2013 Coachella lineup has been officially shared with public. It's a pretty astounding group -- a mix of resurgent bands like Blur or The Postal Service along with tons of others who are at the top of their game. Check out the website fro more details. The Flaming Lips have announced that in a few months they'll release a new album called The Terror . They also released a lyric video for a new song "Sun Blows Up". Incidentally the song [...]
According to my iTunes play count, I have listened to Usher ’s “ Climax ” 69 times since it dropped last February (Usher! Ushuh! Ushah! Yeah!). While the apparent coincidence seems too good to be true, I do not for one second doubt the cosmic powers of the sexiest track of all time to telekinetically calibrate every iTunes in the world to that exact statistic. This technological quirk could quite possibly have inspired experimental indie giants The Dirty Projectors to team up with Australian radio station Triple J and perform a cover of “Climax,” a rendition [...]

Dirty Projectors took to Triple J's Like A Version series and took on Usher's "Climax" as their cover. The band actually make it into their own quite well. Watch/listen:
So this is pretty awesome. The Dirty Projectors recently went on the Australia's Triple J radio and covered Usher's excellent, "Climax" for the station's well-named "Like A Version" segment . The Diplo -produced original is one of our our favorite songs by Usher , and Dirty Projectors' signature harmonies gives the song new life. It also makes us want to listen to "Get Free," the Amber Coffman featuring single from Major Lazer's forthcoming Free The Universe , which is out February 19. [...]

Australian radio station Triple J constantly brings us quality covers from their 'Like a Version' segment. This week The Dirty Projectors are down under and stopped by the station for a session. Their chosen cover was one of our favourite tracks of last year; Usher's Diplo-produced hit "Climax." The promise of hearing the Projectors' wonderful harmonies on this sumptuous track is enough to make a music fan salivate - and they certainly don't disappoint. Check it out below.

Filed under: News , Video Gino DePinto, AOL The Dirty Projectors constantly outdo themselves. The avant-rock band recently played Carnegie Hall and are now touring Australia. During their journey down under, the band decided to stop by Triple J radio to cover the one and only Usher . The band's rendition of the pop hit "Climax" is pretty stripped down, but singers Dave Longstreth and Amber Coffman make [...]
During a recent session for the Australian radio station Triple J, Dirty Projectors took it upon themselves to cover Usher's " Climax ," the one recent radio hit that shows the sort of melodic sophistication that the group loves. Backed entirely by by some sort of drum-machine sequencer doohickey, the band's version of the song is actually a bit thin. But dude, Amber Coffman's voice. Watch it below. Read More...

While January has effectively lived up to its London billing as a month as drab musically as it is meteorologically, they're having a topsy-turvy time of it down under if recent triple j Like A Version sessions are anything to go by. First there was dear ol' Sharon doing Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' People Ain't No Good , and now there's this: David Longstreth's Dirty Projectors reinterpreting Usher's heady, chart-glooping Climax. Still swinging high off 'Magellan by the sounds of it, he's joined on the track by the band's [...]
