Vampire Weekend released their third album Modern Vampires Of The City last month and it's been generating rave reviews the land over for its maturity and move away from the "cultural" sounds that were prevalent on their first two albums. It was propelled by the first track to be released from it "Diane Young" , which now has this star-studded, religiously-themed video to go along with it. Featuring Sky Ferreira , Chromeo , [...]
Assim como no clipe de “Giving Up The Gun” , do [...]
Vampire Weekend have released an official video for "Diane Young" that features an epic dinner featuring the elite class of indie rock. The dinner features Hamilton Leithauser from The Walkmen, Sanitgold, Chromeo, Dave Longstreth from Dirty Projectors, as well as Sky Ferreira. It's one of the most fun music videos of the year. Definitely one of my favorites of theirs in general, as well as of the whole year. Enjoy it below.

Enjoy.
Not long ago, the phrase " Major Lazer TV performance" might have raised some eyebrows (we're not sure about how well most of the American public would have embraced daggering) but since the Diplo project's arty dub-funk turn with last year's killer single "Get Free," it seems a little more reasonable. Diplo and company, including Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman and Dave Longstreth and the Roots, brought the track to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. As usual, Coffman's voice is in fine form, and she, Longstreth [...]
Gearing up for next week's release of their sophomore album, Diplo's production project Major Lazer stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a special performance. Alongside The Roots and Dirty Projectors' Amber Coffman and Dave Longstreth, the group played a smooth rendition of the excellent "Get Free." Major Lazer's upcoming LP, Free the Universe , is due out April 16; stream their appearance above. ( Miss Info )
Major Lazer got a bit of a facelift last night when they performed on Fallon. While their crazy live show with butt-shaking, crowd-surfing antics is great, this was a serious "best foot forward" move. Diplo and the rest of Major Lazer recruited Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors to sing on "Get Free" with The Roots [...]
If you caught any of Major Lazer's frantic, fun-as-hell festival-rocking live shows over the last few years, you likely saw girls twerking on speaker-risers, Skerritt Bwoy performing death-defying feats of daggering, and Diplo perched behind his DJ table, looking vaguely bemused at the whole spectacle. But the Major Lazer that appeared last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon was a very different beast. Diplo, all suited up, played keyboard on the slow, sultry reggae song " Get Free " while Dirty Projectors singer Amber Coffman cooed on the mic, her bandmate Dave Longstreth held down guitar duties, [...]
Everyone's favorite dad rockers, The National , have released a music video for "Demons," the first single off their new album, Trouble Will Find Me , due out May 21 on 4AD Records . The video features a mirror image effect, a dude doing a chalk illustration of a pretty lady, and then that same dude erasing the chalk illustration of the pretty lady. It's probably about the impermanence of relationships and our own fleeting time on this earth. Or maybe the guys in The National just really like chalk. [...]

All the best things happen in SXSW. This is a life lesson we will all eventually learn. Above is some footage of Major Lazer and Amber Coffman of Dirty Projectors performing "Get Free" live for the very first time. It's interesting to see Major Lazer channel a completely different energy on stage here alongside the demure Coffman, as most of their material is substantially more upbeat. Instead, everyone both on and off stage just mellow out to Coffman's soothing vocals. Check out the performance above.

Dirty Projectors played "Offspring Are Blank" live on Conan last night, still keeping their momentum strong well into 2013.
Dirty Projectors pulled from their excellent sixth album Swing Lo Magellan during a visit to Conan last night, where they performed album opener "Offspring Are Blank". David Longstreth impresses as always with his malleable voice, expanding and contracting his vocal chords with relative ease. Check out their performance above. The band's two most recent releases, Swing Lo Magellan and About to Die EP, are available now. As well, the New York outfit will be appearing at numerous festivals in the coming months, including Sasquatch! [...]
Before setting out to appear at some of this summer's biggest festivals, including Sasquatch! and Governors Ball, Dirty Projectors took some time to stop by Conan last night, where they performed a rocking version of "Offspring Are Blank." And you'd think after their ridiculously fantastic cover of Usher's "Climax" frontman David Longstreth would be like "nah, I'm gonna take it easy on the vocals, you guys saw what I can do" but instead he once again delivers, showing just how unparalleled his range really is. Take a look at the performance above. ( [...]
Last night on Conan , Dirty Projectors came through to play the fiery Swing Lo Magellan opener " Offspring Are Blank ," giving the world a rare opportunity to hear Dave Longstreth when he's maybe just a tiny bit hoarse. The band's whole itchy-perfectionist dynamic is always a powerful thing to witness in real time, and they rocked it out on the show. Watch the performance below. Read More...

Watch 'Offspring Are Blank' here. Dirty Projectors recently dropped by WNYC. Purchase Dirty Projectors items via Insound. MP3: Dirty Projectors - Buckle Up
According to my iTunes play count, I have listened to Usher ’s “ Climax ” 69 times since it dropped last February (Usher! Ushuh! Ushah! Yeah!). While the apparent coincidence seems too good to be true, I do not for one second doubt the cosmic powers of the sexiest track of all time to telekinetically calibrate every iTunes in the world to that exact statistic. This technological quirk could quite possibly have inspired experimental indie giants The Dirty Projectors to team up with Australian radio station Triple J and perform a cover of “Climax,” a rendition [...]

Dirty Projectors took to Triple J's Like A Version series and took on Usher's "Climax" as their cover. The band actually make it into their own quite well. Watch/listen:
So this is pretty awesome. The Dirty Projectors recently went on the Australia's Triple J radio and covered Usher's excellent, "Climax" for the station's well-named "Like A Version" segment . The Diplo -produced original is one of our our favorite songs by Usher , and Dirty Projectors' signature harmonies gives the song new life. It also makes us want to listen to "Get Free," the Amber Coffman featuring single from Major Lazer's forthcoming Free The Universe , which is out February 19. [...]
