Dirty Projectors brought their insanely good track "Gun Has No Trigger" to the TV screens of many last night with an energetic visit to the stage of Jimmy Fallon's slot. The results are pretty impressive and for the first ever performance of the track I think it's more than a worthy representation of their forthcoming LP , Swing Lo Magellan. Dirty Projectors have a colorful new video out for their swaggering single "Gun Has No Trigger." In the press release, frontman David Longstreth said that they strived for the iconic aesthetic of the iPod commercials from the mid-2000s, and that influence certainly shows. The clip features Longstreth and the other Projectors (sans Angel Deradoorian) silhouetted against a colorful background that transforms as light begins to shine on the changing faces of the band members. Dirty Projectors ’ video for “Gun Has No Trigger,” the first single off their upcoming album Swing Lo Magellan , evokes a darker version of the iconic iPod dancing silhouette adverts. Shadowy figures sing along to the track's haunting tune as the background subtly shifts from one jewel tone to another. Two thirds into the video, the singing figure of vocalist David Longstreth is revealed, finally discarding the silhouette motif for only a short time before fading back to black. Remember those old iPod ads back in the early-to-mid 20002s?  Well, for the "Gun Has No Trigger" video this is like that, but the silhouettes reveal themselves to be members of Dirty Projectors . Today we see  Dirty Projectors frontman Dave Longstreth takes to the director's chair for the band's newest music video for recently released single, "Gun Has No Trigger". The epic track will land on the forthcoming project,  Swing Lo Magellan , which is actually number 12 in the band's catalog. The video features a slew of silhouettes from each of the members, as the camera cuts between vibrantly colored backgrounds. Simple, yet effective.  Swing Lo Magellan is due out July 10 via Domino Records.
