Entertainment Weekly of all things reported yesterday that Wilco is giving away recordings of two shows from last year. One of the two includes last year's show in Coney Island, NYC , which had guest appearances Feist , Yo La Tengo , and Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear . The other is from last November in London. San Francisco-based Joel St. Julien is in ELLUL, a band signed to the record label Sounds Are Active. Joel is also Haitian-American. ELLUL has a new album forthcoming in the spring and had planned to release a promotional EP but promotion doesn't seem to matter much right now in light of what's happened to Haiti. I don't need to tell you that things are beyond bad in Haiti right now. There is no telling how many people have died (the current toll is over 50,000 and climbing by the minute) and a lot more than that have had their lives destroyed. Being from the poorest nation in the western hemisphere, these people don't have a chance unless we all come together to help. Think about if this happened where you live.
