Tweet Trailer Trash Tracys is a four-piece band from London, signed by Domino Records/Double Six . The band snagged attention with their longing-filled track, "Candy Girl" , two years ago, around the time The XX made their debut, and has only recently released their first album, Ester , to add to their name. Stating Sufi poetry (now if that doesn't sound intriguing already, I don't know what'll pull you in…) and a kaleidoscope of experimental sounds [...]
For my first post of the year on LSD, let me introduce to you Trailer Trash Tracys, who borrowed the name of a group of Russian strippers of the Stalinist period. One of the most fascinating young bands which will surely turn into a classic for the year to follow. In September 2009, the group's first single vinyl came out. Candy Girl / I Wish You Were Red on the [...]
How fucking great is this band? I've had the pleasure of sampling the debut album from Trailer Trash Tracys over the past month and it doesn't disappoint. Fans of Julee Cruise, Portishead and even Phantogram are going to go nuts on January 16, courtesy of Double Six/Domino Records. If Beach House had an older sister who drank whiskey for breakfast and worshipped Johnny Cash then it might sound something like this.

On this newly recorded version of "You Wish You Were Red" from London noise-pop quartet Trailer Trash Tracys the band immediately lulls you into a dramatic sorrow with heartbreaking guitar notes and reverberated melodies. It's a huge sound, yet it's also solemn and spacious. There's no pretending that this style is already being done, very well I might add, by the likes of Dum Dum Girls and Frankie Rose, but you get the sense that vocalist/guitarist Suzanne Aztoria has a completely different story to tell. "You [...]

Another pleasing wishy-washy shoegaze drencher from London's Trailer Trash Tracys , a re-recorded version of the 2009 song. Does it remind you in any way of The Drums, gone downtempo? 'Wish You Were Red' is coupled with new song 'Englehardt's Arizona' , to manifest itself as a double A-side 73 out November 22nd on Double Six/Domino. -James Godwin, September 14th, 2011 Copyright © 2011. Listen to both tracks from the new single from London's Trailer Trash Tracys , including a newly re-recorded version of dreamy surf-gaze jam " Wish You Were Red " + new song " Englehardt's Arizona ." The double A-side 73 is out November 22 on Double Six / Domino : Trailer Trash Tracys :: Wish You Were Red Trailer Trash Tracys :: Englehardt's Arizona _________ previously : mp3: [...]

Spiritualized are currently working on their 7th studio album. There's is no title on the follow-up to Songs in A&E as of of yet but it is expected to be released in Autumn of this year. Jason Pierce and co have debunked from Universal signing Domino imprint Double Six and to Fat Possum Records in the States. Double Six has Steve Mason, She & Him and Twin Sister on the books while Fat Possum is home to rustic Americana artists such as The Walkmen, Band Of Horses, and the [...]
Martin Dawson - Double Six EP Let's welcome an new artist from London on Kling Klong: Martin Dawson, 50% of Two Armadillos and wellknown for his recent Beatport chartsmasher "Gonna Be Alright" on Off Records (together with Andr Crom) and for his Cocoon release Flying Scotsman" (with Glimpse). This time he's all alone but got [...]

I was at a kid's party a few weeks back and got to relive my youth with a number of arcade game from the 90's. Babeorella is an arena-style shoot-em-up / survival game that is very similar to the arcade game Smash TV. The story line behind this game is that you (Babeorella) have crash-landed on a planet inhabited by killer robots. In your best Jane Fonda-cum-Barbarella outfit, you have to fight your way through numerous waves of robot attacks. Each wave of robot attacks gets progressively harder as new robots come after you and [...]

Returning to London after a year long hiatus, I resolved to throw myself back into the thick of things, you know what that means kids, a gig double header. And not just any gig double header - A Double Six Records Double Header (That's A Double Six Records, A Sub Division of the Domino Recording Co Double Header). Brief is how I shall try and keep this as I am growing averse to live reviews - they are all beset by the same problems and reporting them never changes. I can only hope to use whatever problems arise [...]
In summer, I walk around a lot more. It's nicer to because it doesn't rain as much, and there's usually one song stuck in my head the whole time. Three years ago, it was A Certain Romance by Arctic Monkeys, two years ago, it was You!Me!Dancing by Los Campesinos, last summer it was Come on Feet by Pete and the Pirates. This year, the honour belongs to Laurel Collective, recent signings to Domino imprint Double Six Records (also home to Eugene McGuinness). The song in question is their current single, Vuitton Blues. In comparison, just for comparison's sake, [...]
