Do you see this atrocity? Today, Dragonforce announced The Power Within, their new album, the first with new vocalist Marc Hudson, set to be released April 17 on Roadrunner Records. The big story here is just how awful this art is. I remember taking Intro To Adobe Photoshop classes in college and learning the techniques ...
Banner Designed by Cysquatch Welcome to "Question of the Week," a (not really at all) weekly debate amongst the MetalSucks staff regarding a recent hot button issue. Following the not-necessarily-logical-but-ce rtainly-MetalSucksian conclusion that we need to counteract our recent Albums That Will Fuck Your Face Off in 2012 series, in which we preview some albums coming [...]
Remember Dragonforce? They were huge in Europe, then came to America, Guitar Hero came out, and they ex-plo-ded. Everybody was impressed with their guitar shred/wankery. Then came the backlash, and two years ago, their singer was let go. So, the band has been recouping, writing and recording a new record, which they have now completed. ...

Although there are definitely way worse gateway bands than Dragonforce, we haven't written about the band since March, when they announced Marc Hudson as their new vocalist. And I didn't even realize they were on tour right now. So I guess that tells you how much I care. ANYWAY, they're performing some new songs, "Cry [...]

Here's our long overdue report of days two and three of the recently concluded PALM Expo exhibition, held at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. Check out our report of day one here . With a few hundred musicians eagerly trying out their dream gear at the exact same time (forming an overbearing wall of noise), bizarre antics by an out-of-place compere, workshops-turned-infomercials and lackluster performances at the arena, our visit to PALM Expo 2011 on Day 1 wasn't exactly pleasant. Despite of the baggage of the opening day, we decided [...]

From Beastmaster: "Over the last week I've noticed on the PRP that both Chelsea Grin and Within The Ruins have been denied entry into to Canada for their separate respective tours. Now granted, I don't necessarily love these two bands, but I'm wondering if they are possibly related in some way.... Dun dun DUNNNNNNNN." Yes. They are [...]
I don't think anyone's ever proclaimed that Dragonforce are a bastion of creativity, but this 10-second ditty posted on Heavy Blog is Heavy drives the point home. Still, I can get down with The Force from time to time in the name of fun. What are you, some kind of fun hater?? Here's to hoping ZP Theart's [...]

Weezer has returned with an unfortunately titled and designed album. Les Savy Fav has returned with more post-punk, beardy, large-guy-with-no-shirt goodness. Of Montreal are back with more drugged-out dance pop. Azure Ray and Superchunk have returned. Bill Hicks has a box set. (RIP) Brandon Flowers of The Killers has a solo piece. DOOM has a new one that will inevitably be the chillest and most [...]
