Florence + The Machine – "Take Care" [Cover]

Florence + The Machine – "Take Care" [Cover] Delicate orchestral strings. Guitar riffs. Harrowing vocals. This is what happens when Florence and the Machine takes a Drake song and covers it to smithereens. While Americans were gorging themselves silly on turkey, Florence was visiting BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge for an exclusive live performance of songs off her latest album Ceremonials as well [...]

Download: Florence & The Machine – Take Care (Drake Cover)

Download: Florence & The Machine – Take Care (Drake Cover) There are now, officially, alot of people involved in this song. It started as a Jamie xx track that remixed Gil Scott-Heron's I'll Take Care of You, before Drake recently got hold of it and added Rihanna into the mix and changed it's name to Take Care . Now the batton has been picked up yet again, this time by Florence Welch, as she covered it on Friday as she performed for BBC Radio 12s Live Lounge. It's a pretty well-connected song right?Any ideas where it's gonna go next? [...]

Florence + The Machine "Take Care" Cover on Live 1

Florence and the Machine - Take Care (Radio 1 Live Lounge Special)
This is the first time i've seen this happen. An indie rock band do a hip-hop RnB cover. The Results? Outstanding! There is no one with a voice like Florence Welch and no other Hip Hop artist with the writing capabilities of Drake. This cover is really unexpected and groundbreaking. Take a look.

Florence and the Machine - Take Care (Radio 1 Live Lounge Special)
Florence + The Machine covering Drake ? Just the idea of it is pretty crazy; the realization that it happened is even more so. I really hope this ends up being the next Take Care single. The song itself topped iTunes last Tuesday. First week numbers for the album weren't too bad either. The 660,000 it pushed made it his biggest first week ever. "Take Care" has easily become one of my heaviest rotated songs. It's not easy to express deep emotion and vulnerability while still make it sound so catchy and easy on the ears. [...]

Watch Florence and the Machine cover Drake's "Take Care"

Watch Florence and the Machine cover Drake's "Take Care" While performing on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge today, Florence and the Machine broke character for a little while to cover Drake's "Take Care".

Florence & The Machine Covers Drake’s “Take Care”

Florence and the Machine - Take Care - Drake ft. Rihanna BBCR1 Live Lounge Cover
Florence & The Machine swung by BBC's Live Lounge the other day and decided to put their own spin on Drake's "Take Care". Easily the most talented ginger in the business - I don't think that's a question right now. A little Florence and Drake collaboration would work out swimmingly (see what I did there??). So yeah, I'll take that whenever. Shoutout to Confusion. Tweet

Take Care First Week Album Sales

Take Care First Week Album Sales Even though estimates for Drake's first week album sales exceeded the actual number of units sold, Drake was able to sell... Click Here for the Official Number 659,190 units (Hits Daily Double) Drake's 2010 debut LP, Thank Me Later, earned first week sales of 447,000 units sold. Take Care surpassed that amount by roughly 200,000 copies.

MP3: Drake – “Over My Dead Body” (Star Slinger Remix)

MP3: Drake – “Over My Dead Body” (Star Slinger Remix) I don't get excited about mainstream records too often these days, but there's always a rare exception. For me, it seems like every time a new Drake record comes out I geek out like a teenage girl at a Twilight premiere. Looking at my FB wall and the blogosphere chatter, I know I'm not the only one. And you know what, I'm not even going to say this is a guilty pleasure or any nonsense like that. "Take Care" is one of my favorite records of 2011 and by far the best thing this Toronto visionary has released [...]

Album Review: Drake Take Care

Now that the album has officially been out for awhile (and not just because it was leaked), I guess it's time for a review. Happy to see Mr. Drake back: big fan. I really liked Thank Me Later... Read the rest on Speakerboxxx.com

Guilty Pleasure: A Few Favourites From Drake’ Latest

Guilty Pleasure: A Few Favourites From Drake’ Latest Drakes’ new album Take Care frankly speaking is just TOO long. The second half drags and sticking with it and getting to the end is quite a challenge (I say this as someone who isn’t too fond of this genre).  Most of the good stuff is stacked in the first half with my favourite songs on the album being Marvins Room , Headlines and Make Me Proud . Have a listen to them below and check [...]

Drake – Crew Love (Feat. The Weeknd)

Drake – Crew Love (Feat. The Weeknd) "Crew Love" might be on a Drake album, but this song is truly defined by the ethereal sexuality that has come to be the watermark of Abel Tesfaye's sonic persona, The Weeknd. That doesn't mean that Drake's verses don't contribute to this track's strengths. In fact, his nasal and conversational rhyming both clash with and compliment Tesfaye's vocals perfectly, creating two ontological spaces on "Crew Love"-the one in your head and the one that your crew sees. It's a song about the public and private self, and, more importantly, the battle that ensues between those two identities.

Drake – “Over My Dead Body” (Star Slinger Remix)

Take Care has taken over my rotation as of late, and rightfully so. To celebrate the release a bit more, Star Slinger adds his two cents to the opening track of the album, "Over My Dead Body". While the original is more minimalist, Slinger speeds things up with crisps drums and some fresh vocal effects. Take Care is available now!

Drake’s Take: New Releases 11.15.11

Childish Gambino vs Drake by Drake Lelane I love it when Drake reviews his namesake. -ed. Drake's Take: New Releases 11.15.11 Two actors-turned-rappers face off in this week's new releases, with Drake's nuanced sophomore release dropping the same day as Donald Glover's full length debut as Childish Gambino. Both rappers try to shrug off being called 'oreo' from certain circles in hip-hop, both having mostly grown up in white environs, both releases address, in some matter, [...]

ANY GIVEN SATURDAY #5

ANY GIVEN SATURDAY #5 Ello Ello Ello TQF. Another dose of Any Given Saturday. Woo! I'm pretty exicted about this one, because a lot was released this week. A LOT of music was released, but I'm not complaining ya know? The month of November was a great month for music. Me and my friend Jehan were talking about how November was crazy because Wale started the month out on a good note with Ambition . Then Drake and Childish Gambino made it just an incredible month with their albums. Shout out to [...]

Drake: Take Care

Drake: Take Care                 After I heard it, my heart stopped. That was it. That was what I anticipated for over a year. It was the hip-hop soundtrack to the film Titanic . It was basically the perfect R&B album, but stuck with a hip-hop label. Aubrey “Drake” Graham said Thank Me Later with an incredible debut and we all did. Now with his sophomore release of Take Care -that is exactly what I want to say as I leave this album at the bottom of my pile of disappointments. [...]

Drake – Take Care

Drake – Take Care Drake - Take Care By Joe Bates Aubrey ' Drake ' Graham occupies a very singular space in the music business, straddling the rap and alternative world through both the music he releases and the company he keeps. Comfortably one of the biggest names in the rap world, comfortable on the blockbuster tracks that this position entails, his own music indicates a broader approach than many of his contemporaries. The combination of his lyricism, which highlights insecurities, misgivings and doubts in a way that no other mainstream rapper would admit [...]

Drake-Day Care[Laugh of the Day]

Drake-Day Care[Laugh of the Day] Aubrey is probably the easiest target in hip-hop. The wimpy kid that all the bullies pick on just because, even none bullies will give him a wedgie or a wet willie for no true reason. Since i enjoy his emo music when the sun goes down i try not to participate in the slander but sometimes you come across something so genius it blows your mind. This literally blew me away, just LOOK AT IT. If you are the creator please own up to your work of art. Bonus: Take Sh*t
