Day three of weekend one of Coachella 2012  is in the books, and you can replay Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's entire headlining performance below. The rumors proved true as the guest-heavy performance featured appearances by Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Warren G, and holograms of Tupac (!) and Nate Dogg. The career-spanning setlist kicked off with "The New Episode", "Gin N Juice, and "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang". Nate Dogg's hologram then appeared for "Ain't No Fun (If The Homies Can't Have None)", Kendrick Lamar performed his new Dre-aided single "The Recipe", and Wiz Khalifa [...]
There's not really much point me saying much about Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg's performance at Cochella earlier today. This is definitely a case where it's best to let the pictures do the talking. Or holograms, as the case may be. So watch on below as the good Doctor and the Big Boss Dogg burn through a ton of classic tunes backed by a tight band and some questionable haircuts (I see you, Snoop). Oh, it's not just a two man show, mind you. Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and Wiz Khalifa all [...]

The lineup set-times is finally available for Coachella. All I can say is, FML. There are at least 5 very tough decisions to make. I'm guessing The Little One will be making us see At The Drive-In which makes seeing Dr. Dre & Snoop Dog an easy thing, since they are both at the same stage. At least a few things in this lineup worked out. Snoop and [...]

It's probably no surprise that where Dr. Dre goes, Eminem follows, but we're excited by this news anyway: The Real Slim Shady will appear at the 2012 edition of Coachella alongside his frequent collaborator Dr. Dre during his co-headlining set with Snoop Dogg on each Sunday night of the two-weekend fest. According to a post on Warren G's website, "The good doctor will perform with all times friends Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Warren G & Eminem. Kendrick Lamar [...]

When Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg headline the final day of Coachella , they'll be joined by a number of special guests. As longtime associate Warren G revealed on his website  (via RollingStone.com ), "the good doctor will perform with all times friends Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Warren G & Eminem. Kendrick Lamar will also be here to perform [his] new single “The Recipe” . Y’all ready to feel the wrath of the Aftermath ? Let’s gooo!!" Coachella weekend one goes down in just two days time. Stay tuned for set times, a webcast [...]
No matter how many blogs, publications or radio shows anoint Kendrick Lamar rap's next big thing, the greatest compliment came from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's approval. Last week, Dre [...]
With one incredible collaboration with Dr. Dre already behind us, Kendrick Lamar let's us know that he has 30 more tracks with the legendary artist in the vault. In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Kendrick sheds some light on the work being done in California, as well as his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Good Kid in a Mad City. It also looks like we might see that album this summer. But who knows, we are dealing with Dr. Dre here. [ via ]

Raise your hands if, like us, the giddy fan-boy joy of hearing that indie rap hero Kendrick Lamar and his Black Hippy crew had signed to Aftermath was soon usurped by depression as the reminder seeped in of the many acts on the label who had seen their early promise slowly dwindle away on the backs of long-too-shelved product. Surely the good Dr. Dre wouldn't be foolish enough to keep this cat simmering on the backburner, waiting on the critically acclaimed mic master to craft material that fit his "vision" of what a major [...]
Watching Kendrick's ascent has been fun. Last year's "street"-album Section.80 ( BPM review / #13 on our Top Albums of 2011 ) proved that he was one of the best lyricists in the game and possibly the new face of west coast hip-hop. Months later we heard reports that he was in the studio with Dr. Dre and in August we saw Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Game sign off on him . Not to mention just last month we saw Kendrick's whole Top Dawg/Black Hippy crew sign a deal with Dre's Aftermath and Interscope. [...]

1. "Theraflu" - Kanye West feat. DJ Khaled & DJ Pharris. New music from Kanye, the first we've heard since Watch The Throne . A bit out of nowhere, but good to hear from Mr. West. Not really sure what DJs Khaled and Pharris are doing in this song, especially since the track was produced by Hit-Boy, but... you know... whatever. All in all a pretty forgettable song but because it's Kanye it's buzzworthy. Kanye West feat. DJ Khaled & DJ Pharris - Theraflu 2. "Shot Caller (Remix) (Prod. Harry Fraud)" - French Montana feat. [...]

As we all surely know, festival season is right around the corner, which means that bands are starting to put out those big albums that justify their place on the lineup with the songs that will fill up their setlists. This slate of tracks should whet your appetites for outdoor music, with big names including Liars, Dirty Projectors, GOOD Music, and more. Battles - "Ice Cream" (Gang Gang Dance Remix) Math-rock madmen Battles are clearly also big fans of dance music, and they've got a Record Store Day (April 21) [...]

Compton's very own Kendrick Lamar teams up with hometown legend Dr. Dre for a hypnotic ode to all that is great in L.A. The Scoop Deville -produced " The Recipe" has Dr. Dre stepping back from the production side to trade verses with Lamar. Deville takes complete advantage of the opportunity and delivers a soothing beat that serves the MC's well, as their brash lyrics make you envious of those living in the City of Angels. Fans of Lamar's critically acclaimed Section 80 won't be disappointed [...]

Young LA rapper Kendrick Lamar recently signed a deal with Interscope Records and is poised hit it big when he releases his first big studio album, Good Kid in a Mad City. But is he ready? If his latest single "The Recipe" is any indication, Kendrick is ready and then some. Sure, he's got help from Dr. Dre, but at just 24, he has maturity- and talent- to spare. He's often been compared to his idol, Tupac Shakur, and the excellent, easygoing flow and laid-back vibe of "The Recipe" show that the comparisons aren't too far off. [...]
Kendrick Lamar - The Recipe (feat. Dr. Dre) This just dropped, and I gotta say it’s nice to hear a fresh “Welcome to Cali” track that does the sound, attitude, and West Coast thing some justice. Dre’s verse is reminiscent of the days of The Chronic  and the sample from “Women, Weed & Weather” pulls you back into the days in which hip hop was West Coast / East Coast and that wasn’t because everyone wanted to kill one another. Keep an eye out for Kendrick’s release later this year, because this is a fresh, [...]

I woke up this morning and saw that Kendrick Lamar and Dr. Dre had collaborated on a track; nonetheless, it was a great morning. The single " The Recipe " was produced by Scoop Deville and offers up the best of both these artists. The smooth, skillful flow should make this song a new edition to your beautiful weather play list. As fans of both these rappers, I've been playing this single all day and so should you. [...]

Kendrick Lamar and the one and only Dr. Dre?!? Yeah, I would just go ahead and press play on this one. Look out for Kendrick's TDE/Aftermath/Interscope Records debut LP dropping later this year.
