So you know how Rick Ross , Jay-Z, and Dr. Dre's collaboration on God Forgives, I Don't was pretty lackluster? Well, then you will find solace in knowing that they're getting into some trouble over " 3 Kings ". It turns out that the sample on the track—Crowns of Glory's "I'm So Grateful (Keep In Touch)"—might not have been properly authorized for use. At least, that's what Crowns of Glory, a gospel duo, is claiming in their lawsuit against the three rap giants, producer Jake One, and Universal Music Group. The owners of [...]

Rick Ross' music has been getting him into a lot of trouble lately, what with canceled tour dates and drive-by shootings . Just as things start looking up with the possibility of a Grammy win this weekend, more bad news has come down the pipeline, only this time it's legal and involves Dr. Dre and Jay-Z. The trio are being sued over an uncleared sample used on their "3 Kings" collaboration on Ross' latest record, God Forgives, I Don't . As All Hip Hop [...]
A pair of gospel songwriters are suing Rick Ross , Jay-Z and Dr. Dre for copyright infringement on their big collaboration "3 Kings," off Rozay's latest album. Clara Shepherd Warrick and Jimmy Lee Weary have filed the suit (which also names producer Jake One ), saying that the track uses an unauthorized sample from their 1976 song "I'm So Grateful (Keep In Touch)" (hear a side-by-side comparison here ). According to AllHipHop , the lawsuit claims Weary is listed in God Forgives, I Don't as one of the writers of [...]
Day 4 of our 4-day countdown of the best of the year. Part 1 (80-61) can be found here . Part 2 (60-41) can be found here . Part 3 (40-21) can be found here . To recap: AlbatRoss and I had 2 guidelines that we stuck to in compiling this list: 1) it had to be rap (meaning no R&B - Frank Ocean and Miguel had killer years but they won't be found on this list) and 2) one song per project on the list. We did this (including honorable mentions, of course) to make sure we brought a [...]

The headline of Rozay’s latest album reads: “The Untouchable Maybach Music Empire Presents,” which indicates a lofty statement that exemplifies the fictitious wealth of Rick Ross as a character and is the first instance of self-aggrandizing labels that hold no weight in reality. Ross has managed to lodge himself firmly in the rap game by assuming the role of a super-wealthy, Miami-based drug lord based on his own fictitious origin story. He’s somehow managed to get in good with the entire Young Money family, constantly found alongside [...]

Dre Films put together a nice vid to refresh your memory on 3 different rappers with 3 very different careeer paths. Crazy to think the Doc is 47 years old, Jigga weighing in at 43 years and young bull Rozay is 37. Huge fan of this track and shed a few tears after J's verse. RICK ROSS FEAT. “A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.” -Willy Wonka Angel Haze – “New York” Next time you're visiting NYC, don't be on the look out for muggers or gangs; be wary of Angel Haze's slender frame ruining your day. As least after she's done, she might include you in her next rhyme. Big K.R.I.T. feat. Ludacris – “What U Mean” When Big K.R.I.T. and Ludacris hang out, expect lots of pretty girls and over-powered muscle cars. Not that they [...]
The big three that are Rick Ross , Dr. Dre and Jay-Z have offered up the visual for the track "3 Kings" that features on the recently release God Forgives, I Don't . The video is a bit of nostalgia throwing together shots of all threes vintage videos cut alongside all the usual stuff you'd expect from a collaboration like this: Girls, money and flash cars. Nice product placement, Dre. Watch it at the top.
MIA might have a new king, watch out Pat Riley . Ricky Rozay has released a monster of an album and isn’t scared to tweet about it. Ross recruited Jay-Z , Dr. Dre , Andre 3000 , and his MMG crew to be part of his historic album. The Boss utilizes Florida producers Cool & Dre and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League to create some polished, jazzy beats. With his lyrical evolution from Hustlin’ to GFID , it’s safe to say [...]
Rozay got the elusive Dr. Dre to spit a written for his record but it was probably going to be like pulling teeth to get him and Jay-Z together for a visual. He did the next best thing and scraped together some classic clips from all three artists for the visual. Ross' new album God Forgives, I Don't is in stores now.
Ricky Rozay may or may not be a true street hustler but he's still a hustler, no doubt. Couldn't get Jay and Dre in the same place, at the same [...]

In the video for “3 Kings”, Rick Ross , Dr. Dre , and Jay-Z celebrate their lives through a series of vintage footage from all 3 mega rap stars. From Beats by Dre to The Blueprint, there are some legends talking up some good conversation on this. Even if you hate Ross, I would just listen to this for the line, “Fuck rap money, I made more off of crepes”. God Forgives, I Don’t , is out now through MMG/Def Jam/WB.
DRE Films, Jon J directs the visual to Rick Ross, Dr. Dre and Jay-Z's "3 Kings" track. Video: Rick Ross – 3 Kings (feat. Dr. Dre & Jay-Z) is a post from: That Hip Hop Blog

So what do you get when 3 of the biggest names in hip hop come together for one amazing collabo? Well apparently you get a pretty lackluster track that sounds as if it was pieced together as quickly as possible with no real effort put into it. But when the video gets released it has to be better, right? Well once again it seems like apparently not. In what looks to be a fan created pieced together group of clips that take the literal words of the song and show a picture or brief clip of [...]
Often regarded as a lowly janitorial duty, the art of mopping floors is the first step on a young Prince's journey to becoming King. Like a Zen monk learning to sweep to become enlightened, a young Dr. Dre parlayed his mop money into his first stethoscope and several of his first sequined suits . Young. A true King uses luxury objects as metaphorical symbols. Dr. Dre informs the listener that one must listen to this beat through his Dr. Dre headphones, available for $250, until supplies collapse. Ostensibly, they are a symbol of [...]
