This week has been particularly fun in terms of the finds made on the net, so this playlist is dedicated to sharing those gems. To my delight, a handful of the bands featured here happen to come from London-based Ample Play Records, one I’ll surely have my eye on in future. I hope you enjoy discovering this music as much as I did. If you enjoy a particular band (or several), seek them out on Facebook, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, iTunes or wherever you get your sonic goodies – and support their creations! [...]

Sheen 's official debut single doozies along like one of those really pleasant days you sometimes have. "I bought a nice takeaway coffee and walked across the Heath in the morning sun; then I poked around a few bookshops before meeting a few friends for some drinks and a catch-up. Later I just strolled around and took some photographs, then took the train home and watched the sunset. It was really lovely." This song is really lovely. Read SOIWT's previous gushings about Sheen here .
Vancouver’s Sunshine deserves to be on your list of need to know bands and if you need convincing, then we assure you that it won’t take long.

Pure Bathing Culture isn't the catchiest of band names but their latest tune ‘ Pendulum ’ certainly is. It’s a delicate new wave pop piece with its heart stuck in the 80s. For whatever reason, my warped brain imagined Cyndi Lauper fronting The Smiths at a school disco, playing this for the slow dance. Hmm, well that was embarrassing. Moving on… Pure Bathing Culture’s new album ‘Moon Tides’ is out this August (USA – Partisan Records / UK – Memphis Industries ). Pure Bathing Culture – ‘Pendulum’ [...]

Wild Nothing: Empty Estate - I will be the first to admit that a few months ago, when Wild Nothing released the animated music video for 'A Dancing Shell', the first single off of Empty Estate , I was more than a little perplexed. The sound is so different from what fans have been used to hearing from founding member and mastermind behind Wild Nothing Jack Tatum. If not for qualities like Tatum's distinctive voice, it would be hard to know you were even listening to a piece of work by the indie dream pop outfit. Empty Estate [...]

Young Hunting - Wrecking Ball It was about time for Young Hunting to drop their debut album. Hazel LP will drop on June 11 via Gold Robot Records and the Los Angeles based band made today a small introduction with the amazing song Wrecking Ball . Soft as a touch, relaxing like the sunbeams hitting you in spring and sweet like honey with tea this ’60s-Burt Bacharach inspired dream pop ballad is going to haunt many [...]

Hey Anna: Pompette EP - Hey Anna is a band made up of Anna, Katie and Erin Rauch-Sassen on vocals, Matthew Langner on drums and Andrew Smolin on guitar. Katie plays bass and Anna and Erin do keyboards and synths sometimes, too. The band has been putting out music since their first single, ‘Blackout’ in July 2012. Their self-titled EP was released last September and now we have the Pompette EP this spring. So, creation isn’t the problem. In fact, there isn’t a problem at all. As the cover art for [...]

Sweden's Azure Blue returns with his second single Willows And Pines taken from the forthcoming sophomore album entitled ' Beyond the Dreams There’s Infinite Doubt '. With its light and breezy tones the track floats and bounds through a sea of arpeggiated synths as Tobias Isasksson's crooning vocals add a sense of realisation to the song. Check it out above! ‘ Willows and Pines ’ is available now via iTunes . f: www.facebook.com/azurebluesued eshoes

"Having toured the world in support of their debut 'Native To', IS TROPICAL (Dominic Apa, Gary Barber and Simon Milner) return with 'I’m Leaving' - the band's new album for French record label Kitsuné. Whilst racking up enough hedonistic experiences to last a lifetime, IS TROPICAL have been busy learning some important musical lessons: namely, that 100mph craziness isn't necessarily all you need to make a record. 'I'm Leaving' marks itself out as a distinct progression from its predecessor. Produced by seasoned pro and friend of the band Luke Smith (Depeche Mode, Foals), 'Dancing Anymore' features a duet between Gary [...]

Tjek blot dette uddrag: Feels like a dream tonight, a little break in time, [...]

Wild Ones - Golden Twin The Portland based group Wild Ones have a new record coming out in July and they celebrate it by allowing the world to have a glimpse on their sundrenched dream pop, Golden Twin is a sparkling, sunshine flavored synth pop that stucks in you with this innocence, ’80s influenced pop sound hovering all your bad emotions to these optimistic vibes! A special catchy sing along single to bright your summer days with good feelings! Loved it…

Believe us, deeming something "floaty", one of the most silliest and over-used descriptors of the music blogger lexicon, is about as annoying for us to write (again) as it is for you to see (again), but sometimes it really is just the perfectly succinct way to sum up a song. Case in point, Portland indie duo Pure Bathing Culture 's "Pendulum", a chill, smoldering wonder that, fueled by Sarah Versprille's ethereal coos and her and bandmate Dan Hindman's lush bed of 802s-indebted electro-pop gleam, seems to hover somewhere above the ground and below the clouds while emitting [...]

Sounds from nowhere. Music whispering like the breeze. Lazer guided melodies. Each week, an Ecuador based DJ who goes by the name Agte. Mulder puts together a podcast on Spreaker compiled of select shoegaze, dream pop, and drone sorts of music. Since I'm not too familiar with those genres myself, I asked Agte. Mulder if I could post his podcast here on The Record Stache. Thankfully, he agreed. The result is the Lazer Guided Melodies [...]
