Every piece of music has its imperfections, but McCombs' 5th studio album is at an unfair advantage: Because it's so close to greatness, bad decisions stick out like the Jonas Brothers at a black metal show.Catacombs, in retrospect, is the perfect metaphor for this LP.

Filmed entirely at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA, the idea for Cass McCombs ' video for the first single from his forthcoming LP Catacombs [June 8 UK / July 7 US on Domino ] was based on characters from an original screenplay written by McCombs and director Aaron Brown. He's going to be five albums in this year, and Cass McCombs is still finding out ways to stop time with his dreamy popscapes. His latest LP, Catacombs , will be out on Domino Records at the beginning of June, and here's a video for the single. It features the jack of all trades Karen Black, and takes place in a pretty unlikely place: an indoor skate park. Maybe it's an unlikely place, but maybe that makes it the best place.
