I slept on it for a little while, then one day in a record store and P's to spend I saw 'A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing' at a bargain price so I copped it and from then on much love for that. I remember walkin away feeling quite smug about my crafty purchase (sometimes I'm a cheapskate). Anyways usual drill so lets get down to it. The group [...]
Yo, well continuing on in this Native tongues series for the second installment its only fitting to hit up De La Soul. I have jammed their music now for so long it always keeps me happy and head noddin. there is a little twist to the samples section of the post this time as I have abused my privileges of being the moderator for our facebooking side of things to select the tracks. I did this simply by asking peeps in via the status. I think its a good look so might make a regular feature. As an added bonus [...]
Yo whats going on people. well this week you can probably tell I'm following a little bit of a theme here at the moment, last week was KMD so as some of you may know the two groups were label mates as well as collaborators so it seems natural for me to do a post on them. I also have another reason for doing so. I recently had the privilege of watching the new Tribe Called Quest documentary, this brought me onto think about the whole Native Tongues movement of which Brand Nubian were members, as well as [...]
KMD – Humrush Yo so this week I'm going with one of my all time favorites, my last few posts have kind of tenuously linked to KMD which has put them at the forefront of my mind for an article for a little while now. I first found out about KMD long time ago after I had first started to listen to MF DOOM. So naturally as my obsession grew I then found the goodness that was the group. My tastes in hip hop generally run with a more old school 80's and 90's [...]

Whats cracking peoples? Today's post as you can blatantly see is on the legendery Rock Steady Crew. Freshco & Miz Now to address the infamous duo that is Freshco & Miz. I was first exposed to the duo quite a few years back when I purchased Edan's Fast Rap Mixtape (if you don't have it get it its fresher than fat joe's sneaker closet). Rather than focus on one specific track I have decided to showcase them as a whole for your auditory pleasure. OK so I've been a fan for a few years now of Bob James whom I discovered for myself after trying to find out what the sample was for Ghostface killah's track daytona 500. I was pleasantly surprised to find the wonderful jazz musician Bob James and after listening to a few tracks I was hooked. As I slowly worked my way through his music I discovered that this man has been sampled to hell and back for countless hip hop classics. But more on that later first let me tell you a bit about the man himself. [...]
'Your love is mmmmm... mmmmmmm.... goooooooodddd....." - Smokey Robinson. I consider Elzhi an 'emcee's favorite emcee' , since I know that if you were to ask anyone (especially these rappers that you consider as fresh) what is their TOP 5 , 10, whatever... guaranteed to be on that list will be that Jason Powers -guy. While I patiently wait for his upcoming-and-highly-anticipate d release of ELMATIC , I'll just give you a classic drop of one of my favorite jewels from this guy. Introducing to you.... LOVE IT HERE.
