Last week saw the release of Dum Dum Girls' debut album, I Will Be on Sub Pop . Expanding from a solo project started by lead singer Kristin Gundred (aka Dee Dee) in 2008, this album follows a handful of releases from last year that include a self-released CD-R, a 73 and a 123 EP. The album does feature a slightly cleaner sound from the previous releases, the result of some upgrades in recording gear no doubt. I saw Dum Dum Girls bear witness during the South By Southwest Music and Film Interactive Conference in the seat of Travis County Texas, Austin, during their evening performance at the Sub Pop Showcase at the Galaxy Room.
