There seems to be some footage from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros' video series in the clip for Alexander's "A Million Years" — what is it about the desert, anyway? — but that's not to detract from the song, or Zeros frontman Alex Ebert's solo effort. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros' album "Up From Below" is getting the epic treatment cinematically. The songs are being used as the backdrop for a 12-part music video series titled "Salvo!" and directed by Matt Amato . The storyline seems very "Mad Max" (in a Magnetic Zeros kind of way, of course) but the cinematography and music are enough to keep you riveted. With gorgeous sweeping cinematic visuals accompanying their usual up-beat, folksy indie-pop sensibilities this video is beautifully compelling.

Edwarde Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros gained quite a following after the release of their 2009 LP, Up From Below , which featured the hit some "Home" . What hasn't gotten quite as much attention is their ambitious 12-part video series titled SALVO! There were two videos released already and a third was just announced. The first two are for the tracks "Desert Song" and "Kisses Over Babylon" . In-between inspired cute father daughter virals and immersing themselves too much into cult-like togetherness, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros are making a 12-part quasi-mystical hippie-friendly music video series called SALVO! which has beautiful cinematography. They've just released the third installment. I'm loving the score which opens each part by Miguel Atwood Ferguson . Ferguson is responsible for the Dilla tribute Suite For Ma Dukes and has worked with Flying Lotus .

Alexander Ebert, lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros , is releasing his solo debut this week (March 1st) via Community Music. Going simply by Alexander, the new set of songs are slightly more mellow and introspective than the Magnetic Zeros' debut, yet still feature all of organic sounds and 602s jingling and jangling you'd expect to hear from the band's frontman. The troupe known as Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros finally released a proper video for their track '40 Day Dream.'  These songs really never seem to go stale, they are really fantastic recorded, live, and everything in between.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes probably wrote "Home" as a story about a couple of lovers. This heartfelt rendition by a father and daughter brings this song to a whole new level of adorable. Warning: Some of the objects you are about to see can cause a tear to shed.

While watching this adorable video, I noticed Jorge Narvaez plays his right-handed guitar left-handedly but also with the strings backwards (treble strings up top, bass strings on the bottom).  Most of the famous left-handers I know of who played right-handed guitars (Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain) flipped their guitars around and then restrung them as a true left-handed instrument with the bass strings on top so that the shapes of chords would not have to be inverted. I guess the obvious advantage of Jorge's style is that he can pick up any right-handed guitar and play it without having [...]

From San Diego, CA, Jorge Narvaez created an adorable cover with his young daughter of the song " Home " by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros .  Five days ago, Jorge uploaded his video on youtube just like any other artist might, but did not expect to receive the response his viral video has now created.
