Veteran music video and film director Floria Sigismondi creates a surreal, dreamlike world in this video for Ellie Goulding's "Anything Can Happen". The video offers a mythical view of the afterlife, featuring Goulding on a deserted beach scene with weird floating spheres and giant crashing waves, as flashbacks reveal a dramatic car accident and bloodied lover. It's a well-crafted clip with an engaging, poignant storyline, much more than you can say for most pop videos.

UK singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding releases the video for her first single, “Anything Could Happen” today, September 5. The song, written and co-produced by Goulding is from her sophomore CD, Halcyon out October 9th on Cherrytree/ Interscope. The video, directed by Floria Sigismondi (the film The Runaways, Katy Perry) was shot on the beach in Malibu. Ellie Goulding is on a serious hot streak. Her club hit "Lights" is tearing up the airwaves and from the sound of this new track it sounds like the formula is working. "Anything Could Happen" is off of her new album, Halycon, which drops 10/9. Is it just me or are there a lot of new albums being released next month? I guess everyone is trying to get it in before the election takes center stage in November.

Her common electro-pop sound is tied in with a video that features her crashing into the river filled with rocks and floating silver orbs. We've been awaiting the come back from Ellie Goulding for quite some time and the wheels are now turning towards the release of a second record from the UK songstress. We've got to hear her cover Active Child's "Hanging On" with a little help from Tinie Tempah and today we get the visual accompaniment for "Anything Could Happen" which will appear on Halcyon. Halcyon drops on October the 8th.
