Continuing the surge of experimental-pop from Montreal, Pop Winds excel in diverging colorful psychedelia and indie-rock to create a sound that is familiarly addictive, yet still relatively incomparable. On "Owl Eyes", the duo's vocals combine for multiple harmonies over squirts of brass and synth arpeggios, the wide variety of synths sliding and squirming all over [...]
Hey man, it's officially summer! I mean I think it was "official" a few weeks ago, but once you get to free Slurpee day at participating 7-11s you pretty much know it's summer for real. I didn't get a free Slurpee today because the only flavor I ever enjoyed was Coca Cola, and after two full weeks of not drinking soda I didn't want to tempt myself and fall off the wagon. So...no free Slurpee for me this year. Still, it's fucking summer now! Let's have a party! Okay, enough exclamation points. Instead of speed-writing excitedly [...]
Enon - High Society What the conversation with Nicole reminded me of were the few adventure-type videogames I had played where you can control a character and make them walk around and talk to pixilated citizens, interacting with each other based on the player's commands and the predetermined algorithms chosen by the game's programmers, wherein certain favorable responses were elicited only by precise, keylike actions on the part of the player, and any outlying speech or movement was met with silence, hostility, and confusion, signified in the games usually as a string of question marks, [...]

It feels like Spring. For the past couple of days, whenever I walk outside I'm greeted by sunshine and birds chirping. Also the grass seems to be getting longer now and we might need to mow the lawn. Drats. For the lack of lyric of the day posts the other week, I've bunched the fifth and sixth week's worth of songs in this post. And now for our recap - "My body is your body. I won't tell anybody. If you [...]

![The essay that won me a South By Southwest badge [Curiosities #37]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2325598_lg.jpg)
This essay has nothing to do with Steve Perry, '80s sleeve-logo shirts or Journey, but what the hell I say ... [ Check out Sleepytime Gorilla Museum's set at SXSW 2004 above!!! ] OK, so it's obvious: I'm all out of sorts today, as I have several grad-school papers due and fatherly duties I just can't shirk. I was GOING to re-print a review I wrote of Woelv 's Tout Seul Dans La Foret En Plein Jour, Avez-Vour Peur? and append pictures [...]
"In This City" is one of the most enticing tracks on Enon's High Society . Featuring chugging percussion and spacey synths that flow smoothly beneath vocalist Toko Yasuda's sensual singing, it marked a significant change in Enon's musical direction from the darker, weirder Believo! . The video takes place in a futuristic, overly crowded city that most likely represents Tokyo run amok. With bright colors and cool animation: it is a visual feast. Enon - In This City (Remix by Deadverse)

My friends and I created a mixtape club a few years back with the idea that we'd meet, share mixtapes, listen to mixtapes, eat pizza and have a few beers together. For music obsessives like myself - it was not just a great way to hear new music, but an awesome way to spend the day. The first meeting was a success, so we kept it going - month after month for over a year - until for some reason we just stopped sometime early last year. Recently, we decided it was time to get the band [...]

Enon may be one of the most underrated bands of the past decade. Their 2000 debut, Believo! , was weird, unpredictable and smart. The official follow-up in 2002, High Society , although still unpredictable, saw the band reinvented with a new lineup and songs that ranged from garage rock to synth pop. This Single Serving is a rare recording of their cover of The Gun Club's track "Sex Beat." Enon - Sex Beat (The Gun Club Cover)
A list of the best albums of the decade as compiled by the Minneapolis duo Power of 2.

Mellowdrone - Angry Bear - s-r For Mellowdrone , being dropped from their major-label deal seems to have been a blessing. They're free to do what they want now, and they're taking advantage of the extra space to stretch out and expand. I wish [...]

...hey there, it's been a while. We've been keeping an eye on things from a distance and enjoying one of the best seasons we've seen in a while. by marissa bea A short ride on the 7 train takes you from Manhattan into the heart of Long Island City, and most people are not really sure what to expect there. You have probably heard about P.S. 1 , the old schoolhouse turned museum. But have you heard about the free outdoor art exhibit, only a few short blocks away? The best view can be had from inside a 7 train, which rides above roof level and allows the viewer [...]

Enon | The Bell House | April 9, 2009 Enon were actually the headliners on Thursday when These Are Powers played the Bell House . The two acts actually had a pretty similar feel to them, so it worked out as a great double bill. Enon had previously been signed to Touch & Go, though considering the bad news about that label earlier this year...who knows? More photos below. www.enon.tv | www.touchandgorecords.com
