To understand : Sadly, Europe in Colour has broken up. It's been a good four years, and we'd like to thank all of our friends and fans. We are truly grateful and couldn't have done it without your support. Alt has started a new project called Digits and stay tuned to this space for any future projects by other members. Our EP will still be available for sale for $5 or $3.25 for MP3s. You can reach us at europeincolour@gmail.com for all inquiries. Europe in Colour was Rebecca, Alt, Ghalib, Dave, and Kevin. …to those who wait! The following artist has been on my "to-review"-list for quite a few months now (since October '09, to be precise!). So it's definitely time to give this man his well-deserved promotion. Here's Digits ! Alt Altman is the man behind Digits . From 2005 to 2009, he was a member of Europe in Colour , an indie electronic pop group from Toronto. They released one self-titled EP in 2007, and a split-single, The [...]

Europe in Colour is an outfit from Toronto that has recently parted ways; sigh. I petition that they mend their ways for melancholic free-spirited pop dancers as juicy as Satellite and Cold Reaction deserve more attention - definitely more attention than last.fm provides (315 listeners?!). Europe in Colour - Satellite [ MF ] Europe in Colour - Cold Reaction [ MF ]

Europe in Colour get reanimated for one last assault on a frigid pop landscape, their final two singles being made available via grateful blogs such as these. Rather appropriately Cold Reaction begins with icy smooth "ohhs" and pitch perfect Cold-Wave sythns before a disco romantic begins to serenade you upon a flotilla of ice [...]

Our friend Alt Altman ( aka Digits, the electronic indie pop artist ) sent over a few tunes last week of a band he was previously in, titled Europe in Colour , from 2005-2009. They were based in Toronto and released one self-titled EP in 2007. Unfortunately they recently broke up, so we won't get a chance to hear any new material. However, Altman and crew just want to get their songs out there and into the blogosphere - they don't want their hard word going unnoticed, and I commend them for that. Europe in Colour's sound [...]

If you've been reading this blog for a while, then you know that I love really spacey electro like Digits. They sent me a couple of their tracks a little while ago, and while I've been loving them I haven't had a chance to post them until now: Digits - Sarah Digits - You're Going to Age It turns out that one of their members used to be in another band called Europe in Color and [...]
A review of the solo debut album from Toronto's Digits (aka Alt Altman), who delivers introspective and brooding electronic pop featuring former bandmates from Europe in Colour.

The tagline on the MySpace of Toronto's Europe in Colour is "We have fun!" After listening to the group's online material, these words certainly seem true. While the music of this three-piece outfit might not reflect the same pure happiness and a party atmosphere as something from Los Campesinos!, it's well produced and arranged. All three members, Alt Altman, Rebecca Applebaum, and Dave Kates, contribute vocally and play a vast array of instruments. A tight collaborative effort, Europe In Colour, rely heavily on its synth and vocal melodies. Echoing '80s synth [...]
INTRODUCING: Europe In Colour, Radiohead Remix words: Jamie Milton If I had the time and the resources, I'd have to say my Radiohead remix would sound a little like this. A focus on the minor chords of 'Reckoner' whilst everything around it oozed with even more atmosphere than the original, equipped with an intelligent deep synth melody eventually entering. Downloading the individual stems the other day, maybe I'd have actually used a 10-minute-slot devoting play-time to the absolutely staggering string section but that might not have attracted the sort [...]

Ready, set, Green Go! The stars of track and field were out last Thursday night; I'm not kidding: green headbands, white cotton wife-beaters and white white shorts. The headlining act of No Shame not only put on perhaps one of the best shows the event has hosted but they were also dressed for speed. And certainly songs like "Ghosts of the Future" are so fast-paced any band should have trouble with its frenetic changes but Green Go took them and made the room spin. Almost exactly a year ago, when the two bands first played with each [...]
