This set was recorded live at The Bunker in Brooklyn on February 4, 2011. David Last and Ezekiel Honig are two longtime friends of The Bunker who decided to take the opportunity of opening for Josh Wink as a chance to do something different and play a collaborative live set. We think the results were quite special, and hope you enjoy them. download via http://www.beyondbooking.com/p odcast.asp deepgoa.blogspot.com underground music guide _________ © dg , 2011

(Type Records, 2011) Ezekiel Honig makes musical the subtly corrosive elements of life: the sidewalk sounds, the happenstance rattle in the kitchen, loose-chimed wind clatter, memory. Composed of texture-mongering field recordings, slow-moving melodies and an understated beat-based backbone, Honig's Folding In On Itself is a meditative record, morose, but not overly so. It's been three years since Honig released a full length album (his last through his own Anticipate label) so it's exhilarating diving into something new. Honig's work unfolds itself slowly, a patient production of one of the stalwarts of [...]

Eno, eat your heart out. Ezekiel Honig 's reworking & opening out of his recent Folding In On Itself goes far beyond a couple of remixes & a 'special edition' boxed set. Rather, he has re-engaged with the Type release at a profound level - or two levels, indeed, since his follow-up includes both a kind of live deconstruction/reconstruction & a series of paintings & collages. [...]

Ezekiel Honig — Drafting Foresight If you've been sleeping on the latest string of Type releases (shame on you), wake up to the world-weary murmurs of Folding In On Itself , the latest release from New York's Ezekiel Honig . Loss, and impermanence aren't exactly new or novel themes within the realm of drone and ambient music (see: Basinksi's Disintegration Loops ), but Honig's grace and finesse make the [...]

Clumsy, of course, to characterise Ezekiel Honig 's warm, glitchy textures & lovely, slightly modest adventurousness as 'honeyed'. But they, & the rest of the outstanding output on Anticipate (one of LMYE's labels of 2009 - specifically, our 'if only they would release more' label...), really are. As you'll hear. Previous coverage . [...]

Ezekiel Honig Surfaces of a Broken Marching Band (10.2008, Anticipate) File Under = Moody Electronics I think it is pretty safe to say that Anticipate Recordings is on the short list of my very favorite record labels. Since it's inception in early 2007, the label has passed along a steady stream of utterly immaculate and pristinely artful releases that have built up an aesthetic of organic beauty embedded in spare electronic soundscapes. Credit for this meticulous curation has to fall upon label-head Ezekiel Honig and it seemed only a matter of time [...]

I found this glorious gem of a record on emusic. I was hooked in by the cover even as a tiny jpg on the screen amongst others in the new interface when you log in. Ezekiel Honig is a Brooklyn based electronica artist and has fashioned a work of wonder and drift on Surfaces of a Broken Marching Band. This is blissful recording shifting between music concrete, static, reverb, field recordings and twisted acoustic sources. Surface noise dissolves into rhythm, rhythm twists into light, light disappears into dusk, dusk explodes into neon, neon fuses with static space, [...]

When I emerge, nobody looks like me anymore. Most of all you. Or least. Isn't it strange how either one fits? You can do that with words, use one for the other. - Priscilla Becker. Flying Lotus - Auntie's Lock / Infinitum Los Angeles (Warp / 2008) Shigeto - Winter Thaw New Crossings Ep (Moodgadget / 2008) Mujuice - Over the Rainbow [...]

[ Anticipate Recordings ] ( buy CD ) ( buy mp3s ) New Yorker Ezekel Honig's ambient music does what the genre promises but often fails to deliver: through careful arrangement of and attention to sonorous material, it creates an environment that's quietly seductive and almost supine. Its attention to texture is finely detailed, but it's not showy about its exacting nature. Rather, on Surfaces of a Broken Marching Band , Honig proceeds as though he's tip-toeing through rooms, across floorboards, carefully collecting and placing sonic objects and arranging them into [...]

Verstehe ich nicht. mp3: Explosions in the sky / Welcome, Ghosts Und was sagen "The little ones"? "We want you to take a good look outside your window and see what it is like to forget even [...]

in the midst of constantly searching for something worthwhile to listen to, it was very easy to stumble onto the official site of morr music and randomly select a choosing. so it seems, that with anything listened to from that label, instantaneously without a second doubt, i love what im listening to. how amazing to find a place where you can go and for the music to always be good. characterized by just the colorful cover of their most recent release, plans drawn in pencil, isan [...]
