The LP is limited to 500 copies, and the first 100 copies will include a poster. You can buy the vinyl direct from the label here for $15. You can listen to the track "Free Love is a Sales Technique" [...]

Glasgow's Tattie Toes offer some of the prettiest cutting-edge rock you're likely to hear now, or ever. Doubtless some of the prettiest avant rock you're ever going to hear, this Glasgow outfit throws in fiddle, virtuosic drumming, elements of world and folk music and smothers it all (in a good way) with the truly unique vocals of Nerea Bello. Theatrical but unpretentious, unpretentious and entirely arresting, the 13 pieces that comprise Turnip Famine go by entirely too quickly -- one of the sure signs that this is a truly ace record. The...
DaVinci: A Fillmore Story from WEREHAUS on Vimeo . Watch the video. It articulates everything about DaVinci that I've been thinking for the six weeks since I first heard Feast or Famine . The Fillmore raised rapper is a man of absolutes. No bullshit. No dance tracks. No crossover attempts. He has knowledge of self and understands his lane. He is aware of the obstacles surrounding him. His first hook hangs like a noose: dope rules everything around me. The rest of the album concerns similarly monosyllabic realities: life, death, friends, fam, past. [...]

So, I've never heard of This Will Destroy You, but when their show got canceled yesterday (again, refunds available at your point of purchase, if you bought tickets), I did look at the openers and think, "I hope this means Pure X and Sleep Over will reschedule." And they did. For tonight. And fellow Texans, Silent Diane, will join them and Cam "Babe Rainbow" Reed is going to DJ between sets. If you're not too worn out from Wyrd Fest last night, it's only $5. Plus, if you really want to keep your long weekend party going strong, [...]
Figures that one of the few good / non-BS bands on Solid State Records would go and break up. Right after they released a really good album, no less. But so it is for The Famine, whose album The Architects of Guilt - released earlier this year - was a solid slab of chunky, riffy, [...]

American death metal act The Famine has posted the following statement online, detailing its decision to disband. "The Famine never should have existed. I don?t mean that like when a jealous brother screams ?I wish you were never born!? at his little sister. What I mean is that we came together as a group of married thirty-somethings with kids a... It must be that time of year, because new metal is seemingly streaming from every orifice of the Internet. So much music, in fact, that it's increasingly difficult to keep up with it all (first world problems, we know)... so I've decided to pool 'em all together in one handy-dandy post. I write this under great duress. The tyranny of allergies has tightened its iron grip around me - my skull mostly -– and I do not know how much longer I will last. To be quite honest, I am not even sure this letter will find you. Dramatics aside, I feel like utter shit. I get really bad allergies, and today I've got them bad. One time I even got a shot of steroids in the ass to combat a sneezing fit I had. Sneezing fit. Geez, I sound like I'm Macaulay Culkin in [...]

I sat down with Nick Nowell, lead singer of The Famine , a month ago to talk about their new album, The Architects of Guilt . The weekend prior, an assassination attempt on Gabrielle Giffords had occurred, and it dominated most of our pre-interview conversation and also bled into the interview itself. It was somewhat fitting as The Famine's new album is, in large, a statement of disgust of America's current political climate. The album is out now, and I can't recommend it enough. It's heavy, passionate and intelligent - everything a [...]
