PropertyofZach.com has reported that after a three year hiatus, Phantom Planet announced that they are planning to reunite in 2012 for some shows and have also been considering recording a new EP. The band has created a Twitter account, @phantomreunion and have also posted a video teaser playing "Knowitall' from their 2004 release Phantom Planet during their first rehearsal since 2008.
In an interview following their performance at the 22nd Annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, Sublime With Rome drummer Bud Gaugh announced that he will he parting ways with the band in order to focus on his family. Prolific drummer Josh Freese's will replace Bud for now but no word if this is a permanent or temporary thing. Gym Class Heroes will be dropping off the remainder of their tour with The Dirty Heads due to an illness affecting lead singer, Travis McCoy. The Dirty Heads will continue the rest of the tour except for the November 4th Milwaukee date which has been cancelled entirely. Paramore have announced a new club for fans called the Paramore Singles Club. The club was designed for fans to hear new material from the band. When fans join the club they can choose from different priced packages that include three new songs: "Renegade", "Hello Cold World", and "In The Mourning". One of the packages includes a limited edition 7-inch box set that includes a 7-inch of each song including "Monster" . The box sets are limited to 3500 sets.
