I hope with all my soul that all of you woke up this morning with your heart rhythmically pattering away in imitation of the mad beats your very soul has been waiting on with the new album release from the boys of MuteMath. And likewise I suspect your psyche awoke parched as a dessert that [...]

With a whole load of expectation and a five year wait piled upon it, it's unlikely that Feist 's "Metals" will underwhelm it's target audiences. Early reviews are already heaping praise upon it yet citing it as a very different record to both "The Reminder" and "Let It Die" - and we'd have to agree. It's definitely a more wistful, 'artisty' collection of tracks than either of it's predecessors and one that is characterised by rich, textured production as oppose to immediate poppy hooks. Of course, at the core of all songs on the album is Feist's stunning voice, which should [...]

Metals has been a long time coming. Not just for the time between it and Feist 's previous record, The Reminder , but for the step it represents for Ms. Leslie as an artist, sinking down from the upper echelons of indie stardom and away from the places she claims she never wanted to go to. The Reminder was sprawling epic to begin with, skyrocketed into the stratosphere with anthems like "I Feel It All" and the unstoppable "1 2 3 4," earning Feist Grammy nods and stadiums gigs worldwide. As her star rose, she found herself becoming more and [...]

Feist Metals Cherrytree/Interscope Records [2011] Fire Note Says: Feist lights the torches on her excellent new album Metals ! Album Review: Metals is Canadian singer-songwriter Leslie Feist's follow up to her 2007 breakthrough album The Reminder . It is a record that takes a very safe but sophisticated approach and moves track to track in an intricate [...]

Eight tracks into Metals , you’ll find “Anti-Pioneer”. That title is a bit of an oxymoron considering the song was created by Leslie Feist , one of music’s most dynamic pioneers of recent years. She doesn't do anything other-worldly or exceptional in terms of musical exploration, but she bridges a very wide gap between indie kids and the top 40 charts. Back in 2007, Reminder hit “1234” caught on like wildfire. I vaguely remember a bastardized version of the song performed by Andy Bernard on an episode of The Office [...]

Tweet On October 4th Feist will release her 4th album "Metals" and for as long as she decides you can stream the entire album below. I'm only on my first listen so it's too early for me to form an opinion, but from what people have been telling me over the last week since it leaked and since this stream showed up, it's getting mixed reviews, as did the lead single "How Come [...]
