Heartbreaker - Ryan Adams (2000) The argument that most of the world's greatest art is derived from sadness is one that I've always worked hard to refute, but a guy like Ryan Adams doesn't make it easy for me to do so. It doesn't [...]

HELLOTHERE. So been listening to a lot of heavy, dubby, grimey stuff recently, and still not bored yet. Most recently, I've realised how good DZ is at producing, whether its his own tracks or his remixes. They've been popping up everywhere. C'mon, he even managed to make Major Lazer 's worst track sound half-decent! Anyway, his style is a rumbly dubstep bass with clattering percussion and occasional waving synths, so what's not to like? If you haven't injected this stuff into your ears yet then watch out, you might eject something else... I [...]

Have you been keeping up with Beck's record club project ? Well, if you have not, the uber talented musician has been covering songs recently, and usually with a talented cast around him. Here is the premise of the record club. Record Club is an informal meeting of various musicians to record an album in a day. The album chosen to be reinterpreted is used as a framework. Nothing is rehearsed or arranged ahead of time. A track is put up here once a week. As you will hear, some of the songs [...]

Filed under: Canada Following in the footsteps of fellow Canadian musicians like Feist , Peaches , Gonzales and Mocky , Hidden Cameras frontman Joel Gibb headed off to Berlin hoping to soak up some of that city's uniquely bold culture after the release of the band's last album. But if listeners think the dancier beats on tracks like 'Do I Belong' or the stately grandeur of 'Walk On' and 'Ratify the New' from the band's new 'Origin: Orphan' album were directly inspired by Gibb's Berlin sojourn, [...]

Record Club is a new project that Beck has started, where he collaborates with artists to cover and record an album in a day. The third installment features Wilco , Feist , Jamie Lidell , Spencer Tweedy , and more, working on the Skip Spence album, Oar . Take a look at the first video below, for "Little Hands . " [...]
As we previously reported, during their swing through California earlier this summer Wilco stopped by Beck's recording studio to lend a hand to his Record Club project - which has already featured albums by The Velvet Underground and Leonard Cohen. For the third installment, the combo took on Skip Spence's cult masterpiece Oar. Here's Beck, Wilco and the lovely Leslie Feist with the album's opening track, Little Hands...
Wilco's much-anticipated contribution to Beck's Record Club is now available. The project, available through Beck's site, which had previously included covers of The Velvet Underground & Nico and Songs of Leonard Cohen by Beck and special guest artists, now turns its attention to 1969's Oar, the sole solo release from the late Skip Spence, Jefferson Airplane's original drummer and a member of Moby Grape. First up is the album's opening track, "Little Hands," with Wilco, Leslie Feist, and Jamie Lidell performing. more about " Video: Wilco [...]
Feist - I Feel It All (Spoon Mix) She made a guest appearance at Kings Of Convenience's NYC gig. Feist did well on this year's Modern Rock 500. MP3: Feist - I Feel It All (Spoon Mix)
Beck's Record Club is nothing new at this point. Previous guests have included MGMT, Devendra Banhart, Nigel Goodrich and many others. For the club's latest effort, Beck brings together Wilco and Feist to cover Skip Spence's album, Oar . Check out the video of "Little Hands" below. Filed under: News , New Music Beck 's Record Club continues to astound music fans . After tackling 'The Velvet Underground & Nico ' and 'Songs of Leonard Cohen ' over the past several months, rock's favorite chameleon has announced his club's third installment: Skip Spence 's 1969 album 'Oar'. If that's not enough, he's lured Wilco , Feist and Jamie Lidell to assist him with his rendering of the late Moby Grape founder's cult favorite. The [...]
The very idea of Beck 's Record Club , where he gathers famous guests and plows through a classic album in a single day, makes us swell with joy. So much so that we're satisfied with the other efforts . But wait, Pitchfork is telling us of another collaboration? And this one involves Wilco, Feist, Jamie Lidell, AND '60s icon Skip Spence? OK, now we'd like some more sonic deliciousness. Please. The aforementioned artists have joined forces for a remake of Spence, formerly of the Moby Grape/Jefferson Airplane, [...]

Feist - "I Feel It All (Britt from Spoon Remix)" Leslie Feist writes songs that lend themselves to remixing. So much so that there is an entire album of Feist remixes titled Open Season . One remix that does not appear on that album is the one the Britt Daniels of Spoon did of the Feist song "I Feel it All". The wonderful thing about this remix is that nothing is added to the song. If anything Daniels breaks the song down into its simplest [...]
Yesterday, the iconic children's show Sesame Street celebrated its 40th anniversary of helping kids learn how to read, spell and count, along with general life lessons.
