Thanks to our friend Tasso for bringing this one to our attention. Today, the first trailer to Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere just came out. The film is set to be released at the end of the year and expected to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Stephen Dorff is the main role on this one (yeap...the b-actor from Blade...perhaps a new revival?) and the scenario is back to the basics (Lost in Translation) for Coppola. Ok, I saw this at the Culturist but I simply had to make my tribute to it as well (although a few days late). Last Thursday (April 8th) was the 20th anniversary from the airing of our all-time favorite TV show. Twin Peaks was first aired on the 8th of April 1990 and nothing ever since has managed to surpass it. It still gives me the chills every time I hear Badalamenti's opening track and memories of Laura Palmer start haunting me. After a long time, I finally got around to seeing some fresh videos the last few days. So here are some of the best we've seen from Yeasayer, She and Him, Hold your Horses! and Caribou (thanks to Dustroad , Homo Ludens and John Streckfous for posting/tweeting them to our attention).

How on earth did we miss this one? Our fellow blogger Zeugolator did warn us last year but we somehow still managed to oversee it. Winter Gloves are an indie band from Montreal that make incredible indie songs. Their debut About a Girl was released last year and should have been on our top list...but I guess it's never to late. Their track Invisible is just playing endlessly for the last couple of days and the rest of the album is equally briliant. Don't miss it (like we did)! Winter [...]

We may have had our night out here in Athens but up north in Reykjavik there was another free-entrance party. Gus Gus played an album releace concert at Nikita Garden for their latest album titled 24/7. Their first single is also out titled Add this Song. The album is a bit too techno-dance for me but the full version of this song isn't half bad (although not even close to their old tracks). [...]

And from an ending (hopefully temporary) to a new beginning... Poplie web radio has just gone on air (or on net to be precise) with some of our favorite bloggers behind the mic. Tune in!

A few hours ago, one of our favorite blogs and sources of indie music has been closed down by Google. The Passion of Indie Music is no longer available. Hope all this bullshit with Blogspot and Google are sorted out quickly, cause we are really missing out on one of our most valuable sources. Respect to IndiePassion!!

When one of our favorite bands is featured in one of our favorite sites, the result is bound to bring a smile on our face. Thanks to BLR for pointing out the Sigur Ros take of The Take Away Shows on Blogotheque. The show was filmed in la Closerie bistro in Paris. Enjoy..

A fter BLR's proposal I gave Mellowdrone a run for their money. I never heard of them before (or so I think) so I put their LP Angry Bear on my mp3 player. Good but nothing special. I'll probably pass for now...What's your take on it?

This is the next movie I'll see!! Sam Mendes is back with Away we Go; a couple who is expecting their first child travel around the U.S. in order to find a perfect place to start their family. Backed up by a wonderful soundtrack from Alexi Murdoch, this looks like a perfect summer movie. I only have one doubt..should I see it at home or at an open air cinema? PS. Been on vacation for the past few days, though I worked Monday and Thursday. Regardless, I left Buffalo yesterday ( what timing! ) and am visiting my mom in Louisiana... Just in time for Mardi Gras parades in Houma. Because I'm such a digital guy, I've been online most of the day while my mom, my sister, her boyfriend and everyone else has been at work. Of' course, even the big media channels such as Skai and Ant-1 replicated the news without even noticing that it was a joke. Hands-on proof of the quality of journalism in Greek media.
