My obsession with St. Vincent is possibly unhealthy. I am absolutely infatuated and this new video, premiered today by Google Music and Youtube, is no exception. The feelings it provokes in such a hyperbolic and artistic way are magical...in a sad, disturbing, and desperate way. It brings the song forward in, not a new light, but in a brighter more tangible way. Sensational.
I have posted Alex Winston a few times before(6 times actually, check the search in the left side bar.) So it should come as no surprise that you find me here singing this young Detroit native's praises today. She's great. Not good, great… Her whiny/raspy/squeaky/sweet yet eerie voice is one of a kind. Thursday have announced a headlining tour to round out the end of 2011. The critically acclaimed band continues to support No Devolución and the run will feature support from Maylene and the Sons of Disaster , mewithoutYou , Screaming Females and Make Do and Mend on various stops from November 23rd through December 30th.

The band has come a long way since its self-released debut, Baby Teeth , was written and recorded in drummer (and then-high schooler) Michael Abbate's attic six years ago.
