Field Report and HearYa - a match made in indie-folk heaven? I definitely think this now. TheMilwaukeeboys turned up in Chicago in a blizzard and heartily performed 4 tracks. These 4 songs are now available for immersing yourself inside...completely. As the snow began to fall on a March morning, I wondered if this session was even going to happen. Luckily, Field Report, aware of the impending blizzard in Chicago, left Milwaukee early to beat the weather. This would be my first session since relocating SHIRK studios to its new location. Oxfordian folk / pop group Stornoway headline Kung Fu Neckti e tonight. Following up their 2010 debut Beachcomber's Windowsill , the academically-minded quartet (led by an ornithologist) released Tales from Terra Firma earlier this month. Field Report stopped by Dollhouse Studios in Savannah, Georgia recently while at the Savannah Stopover Music Festival . The Wisconsin folk group recorded alternate versions of album favorites "I Am Not Waiting Anymore" and "Fergus Falls" in addition to previewing a new song called "40/40." The winter had overstayed its welcome in Eastern Iowa this year and with the frost finally succeeding and the bulbs pushing their greens up in anticipation of flowering, we can finally (hopefully) start looking forward to Spring and Summer and to the recent announcement by Codfish Hollow of the first show in the barn this year! While most of the music business were readying themselves for the musical, physical, and emotional onslaught of South by Southwest, a brave few got the party started early at Savannah Stopover .
