Concertgoers in Clearwater, Florida got much more than expected last Saturday night. Fiona Apple , who has recently been engulfed in controversy due to her arrest and subsequent response to law enforcement, took the stage early before her performance to speak on issues recently affecting her reputation. She spoke out specifically against Perez Hilton, who recently hired a team of experts that allegedly determined that Apple is mentally ill. Apparently, making the best album of the year isn't enough to keep you from getting the bad kind of attention. On Wednesday, police in Sierra Blanca, TX arrested Fiona Apple for possession of hashish. This was a border stop where, it turns out, quite a few celebrities have been arrested for drug possession, to the point where I have to wonder why people don't pick another route for their tour buses.
