First Aid Kit always seem to set a perfect atmosphere while performing their emotionally fueled folk. One thing that always brings First Aid Kit's covers home for me is the way the Söderberg sisters evoke a relevant mood unique to each tune. From their despondent vision of "Gloomy Sunday" to a rousing rendition of Patti Smith's "Dancing Barefoot" , the Swedish duo consistently prove they can go beyond mere homage to the craft of the original. (The pair's nostalgic "When I Grow Up" is another highlight.) Now they've done it again with Joan Baez's not-so-cryptic ode to Bob Dylan. First off we have our own show with soulful chillwave group White Hinterland , experimental electro act Elephant and Castle (EP Release Party!), and avant-jazz group Beep at Oakland’s Totally Intense Fractal Mind Gaze Hut on Sunday, October 3 rd .
