Last month we got a sneak peak at the Fleetwood Mac tribute "Just Tell Me That You Want Me." Now we're even more spoiled with the entire album streaming on Soundcloud.

Tantalize a Fleetwood Mac fan with news of a tribute album and they'll go a bit soft inside; the 45-year old band has gone through so many permutations of line up, artistic temperaments and internal melodrama that the choices of covers are really quite boundless. On New Year’s Eve 1974, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac . This solidified a lineup of musicians that would become one of the most enduring pop ensembles of all time, but that was only one incarnation of Fleetwood Mac. The band had existed since 1967 as a blues-rock outfit fronted by Peter Green, but the group couldn’t hold down a consistent lineup, losing guitarists and songwriters to drugs, legal entanglements, and even religious conversions. Next Tuesday, August 14th, a new tribute album filled with indie rock covers of Fleetwood Mac songs will be hitting stores. Just Tell Me That You Want Me is the name of the project, and it features both the hits and some of their lesser known songs, performed by a variety of great artists, including IHYEB favorites like MGMT, Lykke Li, The New Pornographers and Best Coast.  For the rest of the week and up until the release of the record on the 14th you can stream the album in its entirety right here.

Tribute albums are tricky things. Paying homage without either doing note-for-note covers or hijacking a song for one's own narcissistic purposes of stylistic tics can be quite the tightrope walk.
