I'm not sure what Best Coast is thinking. People started liking her music because she covered up her voice with fuzzy lofi gimmicks and dressed in big, baggy t-shirts. Now, she thinks she's Stevie Nicks, a 'fashion icon' with a golden voice and inherent vintage timeless pop sensibilities. She got teamed up with an expensive producer who 'fleeced' her for money to make a crappy album, and now she's covering a classic Fleetwood Mac song? Best Coast have been busy touring and promoting their recently released LP, The Only Place . At a stop on their tour in LA at The Wiltern, the band covered Fleetwood Mac's classic track, " Storms ". Bethany takes centre stage and delivers a great vocal performance. The footage can be watched at the top of the page and it's pretty decent fan shot video from front and centre at the gig.

Best Coast’s sophomore album, The Only Place, is due for release on May 15th. Bethany Costentino talked with the L.A. Times in February, where she mentioned that she has been reading the Fleetwood Mac book, “Tusk” for inspiration. We will have to wait a couple more weeks to see how the influence plays off, but in the meantime Best Coast have released a cover of “Storms” from Fleetwood Mac’s 1979 album Tusk. Almost nothing about the cover would remind Best Coast listeners of Best Coast, save for Bethany’s voice, which even comes across as more mature and less obscured than [...]

In the album cycle for Best Coast's new album The Only Place , Bethany Cosentino has often cited that Fleetwood Mac was a major influence on the record, something you can hear a little bit of on the lead single " The Only Place ." So, naturally, she covered Tusk 's " Storms ," a recording that will be released as a 7" to a limited number of independent record stores.
