As homages go, well ... this is homage. Thirty-five years ago today, Fleetwood Mac released an album called "Rumours," which turned out pretty well for them. To mark the anniversary, NYC-based duo Mirabelle — the project of singer-songwriter Michelle Hotaling and producer Scott Slater — today released "Crystal Revisions," a syrupy seven-track paean to the music of Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham. How much you like "Revisions" will largely depend on how you feel about covers in general, and this collection, however well-intentioned, sends me scurrying back to the original. It's available for name-your-price on Bandcamp . [...]

Photo of the album cover by G. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. Released February 4, 1977 Happy 35th anniversary to one of the greatest albums of all time, Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours." If you only know the music (and not the back story) of Fleetwood Mac, you are missing out on one of the most intense Rock and Roll stories of all time about one of the most dysfunctional bands in history. Fleetwood Mac, a British Rock/Blues band was enjoying success in the late 60s when several [...]

Tonight is the last night of my winter break. As you read this I will be sitting in my first class of the Spring 2012 semester. I have spent the last few weeks listening to a variety of different music which I will be sharing in the weeks to come and drinking a little more than I probably should but having a fabulous time... I was at the bar the other night and this song shuffled on the jukebox. Reminding me just how good Fleetwood Mac is. Never Going Back [...]

Ourselves, along with Hit City U.S.A., couldn't be more excited for our show this Saturday at The Satellite featuring some of our favorite bands, PAPA , Cillie Barnes, and Lesands. Like any girl that's worth "rounding the bases for", it's always better to get to know them before you reach home plate. Of course these bands are all amazing, but falling in love is all about the details. So take some time and get to know each of these acts on a more intimate level. Here are 5 things you NEED to know about 3 bands you [...]

Today I've got men on my mind. Now get yours out of the gutter. All of them are fully clothed -- and singing. Nearly three months ago, I wrote a post titled "Five Great Songs By Five Great Female Singers That Should Have Gone to No. 1," and doesn't it figure? Musically speaking, I'm always dwelling on the creative and performing virtues of the fairer sex. I guess I'm gay like that. There must be some microchip hidden in the brains of gay men that makes us respond more readily to women -- female pop stars, actresses, style [...]

It's a new year, and every Thursday, we're going to be publishing a new list in this space. You guys like lists , right? Good! For our first one, we got to talking about Guided By Voices, who just released a pretty great album about 25 years after their first one. And that raised the question: How many artists are capable of releasing a great album a decade after their debut? For this list - alphabetical, not ranked - we've come up with 10 different albums released exactly 10 years after their respective [...]

Link: https://twitter.com/#!/bestyco astyy/statuses/154692231540903 936 In a recent tweet spree, the buzz artist Best Coast was talking about how she was listening to her new album, and it was s000oo0o0o awesome and she TOTESALLY cannot wait 4 YALL 2 hear it bc she worked so hard on it and she is s00oo0o proud. This is a natural feeling for any artist when they complete an album, however, Best Coast took her hype tweeting to the next level, comparing her own band to the legendary rockers Fleetwood Mac. Bethany even [...]

As a young person at summer camp in northern Minnesota, Original Corn Nuts were just about the greatest thing you could find in a package sent to you by your parents. And while these days I'd take the bargain bin variety (corn, olive oil, salt if you can find it) over the ubiquitous Planters-owned bags, it's a sure bet that you'll find Corn Nuts at one of the gas stations en route to whatever trail it is you're driving to. (And of course, making your own is always [...]

There are few songs in the world that are as honest-to-God, capital-p Perfect as Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" . The song, one of many crazy-beloved entries housed on the group's 1977 blockbuster classic Rumours , just feels like the result of the planets and stars aligning in a certain magical way; the soft, warm churn of the steady drum hits and guitar flourishes having the power to transport one's mind to a state of dreamy bliss from second one, and the somber heartache found in Stevie Nicks' distinctive rasp as she comes [...]

I feel like Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams' had a second go around like 6 or 7 years ago with a few remixes. Looks like it might be about to have a third time around. Can you spot the text that has be added? Fleetwood Mac - Dreams (Megaman & Panic City remix) by djmegaman
