The Analog Girl In A Digital World is making waves with UK-based Gorillaz and producer Flying Lotus. Usually, Erykah Badu albums takes ages to be released, but we have a feeling this will be coming out sometime this year as Badu rarely announced her work-in-progress efforts. Flying Lotus posted this new Thundercat mix yesterday on the Brainfeeder site, which features some new tracks from his album, as well as some classic soul cuts and tracks from Erykah Badu and FlyLo himself. While the runtime is only about 30 minutes, it's a great introduction to Thundercat's particular strain of avant-garde funk, showing off some of his inspirations as well as some of his major contributions, including the bassline on Erykah Badu's "Turn Me Away (Get Munny)", and his standout vocals on Flying Lotus' "Mmmhmm". It seems no matter where you turn you can't help but running into something involving Flying Lotus. FlyLo recently directed the video for Bilal's " Levels " which featured Erykah Badu as well as FlyLo collaborator Thundercat and now he's directing the video for Badu's "Gone Baby, Don't Be Long" from her recent effort New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh.
