Next up is Becki B. She's the Editor and Founder of the superb OhDearyMe.com . Over to you Becki. My favourite albums of 2011. It seems a little unfair to choose just 5. How am I supposed to do that? It's impossible....! IMPOSSIBLE. For many reasons.. a) I haven't yet listened to every band that have released an album in 2011 (yet) b) 2011 has not finished yet.. what if a band releases an epic album on Dec 31st???? c) I like different music for many different reasons. I [...]

We're not quite sure what to call the video for "Call It What You Want", the third single off People's Choice Awards nominees Foster The People's hit album Torches . On one hand, the clip, with its nondescript gaggle of female fans and Hollywood mansion setting, seems to be making a statement about the band's new-found fame following the surprise success of their Top 10 summer smash "Pumped Up Kicks" . While on the other, there's just a whole lot of creepiness, with no rhyme or reason, going down. [...]

We can only imagine how pumped up Foster The People were to be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live . In just a few months, the band has gone from relative obscurity to being one of the hottest acts out there thanks to their infectious "Pumped Up Kicks" (in spite of the fact that the dark lyrics tell the tale of a murderous gunman). Naturally, the next stop for the "Helena Beat" trio was SNL, where they not only performed their summery jam but also played "Houdini" with none other than saxophonist/punchline [...]

It's been a few months since we touched on our ' Handful of Remixes ' series, which fits just enough remixes into your pocket for the weekend, day or ride home. This month's Handful of Remixes is no exception for high-end remixes. Our recently reviewed Freedom or Death have "This Crowded Room" remixed by The Killabits. We really can't say enough about these fellas. We've got even more Adele remixes, which we realize is getting pretty ridiculous at this point. Must listens by Foster The People and Solar Bears are [...]

Another year and the people from EA once again have one of the flashiest game out there with FIFA 12. While a smarter computer (Pro Player Intelligence), more life-like, on-the-pitch player physics (Player Impact Engine) and better dribbling and defending, we're only really going to focus on the 39-song soundtrack. This year's list boasts artists from 14 countries - England, Australia, Brazil, Germany, Chile, Spain, USA, Scotland, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Venezuela, The Netherlands, New Zealand and Italy. We enjoy the list, but the entire African continent was overlooked as well as Canada, Ireland, Russia and eastern [...]

Photo credit: Cara Robbins This week of concerts here in New York City is pretty spectacular. Foster The People , Radiohead , The Head and the Heart , Oh Land , and Gardens and Villa are are playing, but unfortunately, the majority of these shows are already sold out. As always, I added a link to a pre-filled out Craigslist search in case there's a steal or two up there. The asking price for both nights of Radiohead are absolutely [...]

As we get ourselves ready for the end of summer and the bone-crushing cold that comes with the change of season, it’s time to focus important things like family, friends, and getting heavily intoxicated while listening to one spectacular band after another - you know, the important things. So it is with great joy in our hearts that we pack up our things and ship out to Austin for one of our last festivals of the year, the illustrious Austin City Limits . In order to properly prepare our psyches (and yours) for the [...]
We caught up with the LA hotshots Foster The People , at Leeds festival - to see if they were suitable candidates for fostering our cuddly penguin. And to answer a few Very Serious Questions too. Here it is: Muso's Guide is working with Vodafone VIP across festival season, be it live-blogging, video-interviewing artists, Tweeting (we're at @musosguide ) or reviewing weekends in handy snapshot form. ![BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, AMBASSADORS [SUGGESTED NYC CONCERTS]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3699059_lg.jpg)
It's officially the end of summer, but I'm not one to complain. With the coming of fall we are given Fashion's Night Out and some pretty amazing free shows. Put on your dancing shoes and head to one of the many great shows gracing our fine city of New York this week. Bombay Bicycle Club , 1,2,3 , Guards @ Music Hall of Williamsburg ( Tickets ) Great Lake Swimmers [...]

A new mixtape today, Stay Young, Part Two. Creating this mix gives me the opportunity to feature some of my recent favorites. It's sort of similar to my first mix , so I wanted to continue the naming tradition. It veers outside chill, electronic music though, unlike the first one. But I think the songs thematically fit. I think you'll like it (at least I hope so). Check it out with the 8tracks player above if you haven't already! Tracklisting Milagres - Glowing Mouth Washed Out - Eyes Be Closed [...]
24 years ago today, the Earth shook, mountains crumbled, seas swelled, and, as a result, Eric Weiner was born to save us all from mediocre music. Tirelessly taking over car radios, making mix tapes, and sending out hordes of links for new bands, Eric has always done a fantastic job of spreading the word. As a way to say thank you to him, and make sure you’ve got some great tunes to listen to as well, each person at TWHP has shared a couple of our favorite songs that he’s given us this year. Thanks for everything [...]

Yeah, I'm late to the party. I'd try to claim it was fashionable to be that way, but nobody would buy it. I was fairly early into dubstep so it's rather inexplicable that I would take awhile to dive into moombahton. At last, I did and now I know I've been misssing something special. Moombahton is right in my wheelhouse-for those of you that don't know, it's slowed down electronic dance music. It's from DC, created there in 2009 by Dave Nada. Since then, a host of talented artists, producers, and remixers have taken it across [...]
On one hand it blows to not be able to capture an entire song on video. On the other, it's pretty cool to see these snippets lumped together in one post.

It's Lollapalooza time again in the fine city of Chicago. We'll be there checking out the following bands and think you should too. Young the Giant – 1:00PM – Bud Light Stage With stadium-sized, anthemic songs like “My Body”, Young the Giant are sure to bring the rock early at this year’s Lolla. If that’s not your kind of thing, though, their softer edge is equally impressive with more melancholic tunes fit for swaying. [...]
