In "Houdini," a flip of Foster The People 's track of the same name, 17-year-old Skizzy Mars says, "A lot of hype, and two songs," and that's mostly true, except this is the third song we've heard from the young NY rapper. He also says that he can do no wrong, and I have to agree with that statement as well. The dude is quickly becoming one of the up and comers to watch out for, and it's scary that at 17 he's already sounding this clean and polished. [...]

We brought you news of the Foster The People track "Helena Beat" all the way back in January , but now it's been given the visual treatment to go with it. continue reading >>

Fazia tempo que um álbum novo não me agradava tanto quanto este. Estou falando sobre o Torches, debut da banda californiana Foster the People.
Here is Foster the People again with another song from their session for KROQ, this time performing "Houdini" which is another song from their new album Torches which came out today. Tweet One of the perks for writing for a music blog is discovering new music and being a part of its promotion. My friends joke that I don't know the difference between mainstream and indie. When a band hits the blogs hard, I assume that they have thus become mainstream. I'm apparently wrong. According to my friends mainstream music is defined by what is played on the radio, but honestly, who listens to the radio anymore? All this to say, I thought I was way behind [...]
With a powerful and impressive 10 track LP entitled “Torches” looming, then this is the honorary follow up album that MGMT should have possibly styled, produced and penned. But as they didn’t sadly, then likewise, Foster The People have swooped along, continued refining their own craft solely and have evidently patented their own original L.A. [...]

With a powerful and impressive 10 track LP entitled “Torches” looming, then this is the honorary follow up album that MGMT should have possibly styled, produced and penned. But as they didn’t sadly, then likewise, Foster The People have swooped along, continued refining their own craft solely and have evidently patented their own original L.A. sound into a full bodied ten-for-ten portait of audio-picturesque outlays and part screamy & part dreamy melodic sing-a-longs... And all with some instantaneous first plays rings that will wear out your CDJ repeat functions or annoy your internal MP3 repeat button brain patterns! [...]

It seems like forever ago since I first heard Pumped Up Kicks from this LA group . They've been so quiet since that I thought that was going to be the only hit they would produce. Quiet that is until recently, in which they've been garnering much attention from the blog world, doing a great job in creating hype for their forthcoming album titled Torches , set to drop May Two Four. I for one am pretty excited for the release, and judging by all the fantastic remixes of the group [...]
In the three months since my last post (I blame work) I have heard a lot of new music, but none of it leapt out at me and screamed "blog about this NOW. Now, I say". Until five minutes ago, that is. I was randomly browsing through music blogs when I came across a RAC [...]

Tweet This post is a “QuickPick”. QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that’s sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it’s so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I “star” it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it’s still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the [...]
Let it be said: I love pop music. I used to think I was too cool for pop. My junior high years had me realizing I was 'way ahead of my time,' and so were filled with music from the New York garage rock revivalism movement; high school saw me turning to post-rock and post-hardcore (so many posts) to fuel my teen angst; while the beginning of college saw me start doing drugs and thus turn into a

The Remix Artist Collective is on top of the world right now. I honestly think each song they touch turns to gold. Every single remix they have put out in the last year has been phenomenal (if you don't believe me, check out their porfolio ), and this one of Foster The People's "Houdini" is no different. Their complex synth patterns accompany the vocals flawlessly, and this remix may even be better than the original. Foster The People - Houdini (RAC Remix) [via SkeetBeatz ]
Foster The People released this remix of Houdini done by RAC on April 29th on their website . Like a lot of the stuff RAC has been putting out recently, check the BGB archive here . Foster The People's new album Torches is coming May 24th, so keep an eye out. Foster The People- "Houdini (RAC Mix)"

Despite having no clue who RAC is, it's safe to say they (he? she?) rock. Their production is consistently amazing, and to anyone who suggests remixing isn't an art form in its own right, RAC's is the first catalogue I would point them to. Their newest track, transforming indie upstarts Foster The People 's funnest track, "Houdini," into a dancefloor banger, shouldn't have been a hard one - the original is poppy as hell. However, they wreck this one, trading in pianos for synths and creating something that will fit right in at a party [...]

This track, “Houdini," is coming to us via Facebook from RAC also known as Remix Artist Collective. Foster the People originally released this song in the beginning of the April, but have just released the new version from RAC. Enjoy another. Download: Go here for the download

What's In The Box?! Remix Of The Week Foster The People is a "city of angels" based indie rock outfit that will be debuting their fist major full length record entitled "Torches" in late May. The first single is making [...]

When you see "RAC" within the parenthesis of any track title, it's pretty much a guaranteed good thing. Case in point, Remix Artist Collective recently released the remix below of Foster The People 's "Houdini." The track comes off the band's forthcoming debut album, Torches, out May 24th. MP3: Houdini (RAC Remix) by Foster The People
Los Angeles' Foster The People are becoming a pretty hyped sensation, and that's after only releasing three songs. With jams as immediate as “Pumped Up Kicks” and “Houdini,” it's no wonder why the outfit's debut album Torches is one of the most anticipated debut LP's of the year. Now we can absolutely guarantee that the group is truly worthwhile, because they've just been remixed by Remix Artist Collective, aka RAC. “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination,...
My ears are buzzing like you wouldn't believe. I just got home from an unbelievable A-Trak show here in Boston, and I can't hear shit. I'll do a writeup on the concert later when I can compose myself - for now, I was lucky enough to be able to physically hear the sounds in this latest gem from the RAC remix kings. Their latest display of talent comes in the form of a Foster The People remix, as they add their own spin to "Houdini". I've literally yet to hear a disappointing remix from these guys. As for Foster The [...]
