Love this version, well done (compare it to the original ). We here at TGTF do like synth bands. Beyond that, I'm not really sure how to describe Foster the People from Los Angeles. A little MGMT , a little Passion Pit , a little Yes Giantess , perhaps? Of all the bands I kept trying to see at SXSW but failed miserably at, Foster The People was one that I really REALLY wanted to catch live. When you hear an EP like theirs, you immediately thereafter hope that they can make that kinda energy happen live. Foster the People are on a sold out tour that will take them to the UK in a week to spread their SoCal magic. All of this touring is on the heels of their pending album scheduled to be released May 24th titled, "Torches." Spinner was on hand last month to capture their home run shot (forgive the baseball reference, I have Rockies fever) in Austin for SXSW. I went to see buzzband Foster The People last night at a sold out show at Lees Palace. Impressive set from this young band who are continually getting the "next MGMT " comparison. When they closed the encore with "Helena Beat", the better jam on their upcoming record debut Torches , I couldn't help think of those poor dogs....... hahaha.
