Having released his debut album, All of Us, Together only a few months ago, Jamison , the man behind British Canadian outfit Teen Daze , is one of many artists continuing an ongoing trend this year: producing a high volume of material. From Ty Segall to Death Grips , serving up multiple albums in the same calendar year is impressive by any standard. Fortunately, this follow-up, inspired by Saint Terisa of Avila's "El Castillo Interior", gives a more pronounced, defined sound, allowing him [...]

Oh man. Almost two years (whoa that feels weird) since Teen Daze laid down his Beach Dreams EP and, with the grand exception of Two Bicycles, his guitar [or at least guitar driven music]. Lovers of the aforementioned EP will unconsciously, and silently fistpump when they click play below; those who haven't listened to it will have the unique opportunity to hear a different side of the electronic juggernaut for the first time. Shouts to Frankie Rose for the vocal additions. New LP The Inner Mansions out [...]

Teen Daze has come a long way in a short period of time, releasing better and better tunes each and every time. As we already have a bunch of awesome material to feast on, the Canadians are wasting no time in putting out more music. For their latest single, they enlist the widely accepted Frankie Rose to spray her lush vocals over the dreamy instrumentals. Yeah, I didn't see a feature this big coming, despite how awesome Teen Daze's sound might be. "Union" will land on The Inner Mansions , which is due out Nov. 6.
Teen Daze will be releasing his second album of 2012, Inner Mansions , on November 6. "I wanted this record to be totally different..." Frankie Rose, the exciting twenty-something from New York City, has done the rounds. That is, before going it alone and forging a career built around her own name, she plyed her trade as a member of Vivian Girls and Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts. Hardly world beaters, no, but each of them was, at some point, heavily supported. Having released one album under the moniker Frankie Rose and the Outs, her majestic recent-release Interstellar was her first completey out on her [...]

Charlotte Gainsbourg - Paradisco By Stef Siepel The Weekly Froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer’s fancy. Brooklyn musician Frankie Rose took her fingers out of all the pots they were in ( Vivian Girls , Crystal Stilts , etc), sloughed about six layers of reverb off her super-scuzzy modus operandi, and recorded a new solo album, Interstellar . You’ve heard some of the new-wavey , almost glam cuts she’s teased from that so far, but the just-released title track takes the cake, because it sounds like its title – as otherworldly as it is massive, almost futuristically clean and polished compared to her back catalog. But don’t take all [...]

Tweet It's been ten years since The Strokes released the raw, genre-defining album "Is This It", which has since been named the Best Album of the Decade by NME, among other titles and accolades. Stereogum brings us this compilation of covers in tribute to the album, each track covered once by an artist from a different perspective. They've released similar [...]
