That Eyes Like Sky didn't quite make the grade for broadcasting on Frank Ocean's sensational channel ORANGE LP of yesteryear is testament to the strength of the album as a cohesive whole, given that this one so too is sublimity itself. Though despite its furthering of Frank's infatuation with oceanic lyrics and insinuations of ever vivid colours (the subliminal messaging this time centres around "a blind boy" who encounters both "a green girl" and "a blue man", before going on to describe "yellow so perfectly") it would have perhaps been ever so slightly extraneous to [...]
It is hard to find someone who would tell you that they don’t enjoy the sweet vocals that FRANK OCEAN has been pumping out in the last twelve months but how does the LA crooner hold up when he lays down a chill out rap track? The soulful singer and ever rising star dropped the tune BLUE WHALE on his tumblr with no added description but it really isn’t in need of one, the track is chill out and thrives of its repetitive [...]
Frank Ocean strays from singing on this and raps/tells us a story on Blue Whale. Frank dropped this on his Tumblr recently. Thank jah for that. This is a gem. Dig it.
My boy Frank Ocean dropped a new track titled Blue Whale via his Tumblr account that shows off his rapping talents as his spends the whole song spittin with just two occurrences of a 4-liner hook. It's a quick hittin serving of lyrics with no particular specific subject matter aside from a lot of references to beaches and oceans. I had forgotten that Frank is from New Orleans until I heard him say "and my home town flooded with just a little bit of water but my shoes still muddy", alluding to the after [...]
Frank Ocean dropping loosies on his Tumblr is not uncommon, but in this new joint titled "Blue Whale" we see him flex his rapping muscles as he spits two introspective verses over a smooth and mellow beat. Definitely a must add to your playlist, stream below.
Riding high on the near mythic critic-love for his Channel Orange album, Frank Ocean has released a new song via his tumblr account. The track dubbed "Blue Whale" by various media outlets feels laid back and shows Ocean juxtaposing his smooth flow and minimilist beat against lyrics about the uncertainties of life, with a repeated acceptance that "life goes on...the wise don't doubt it." Just sit back and enjoy. Any new material from Ocean is something to celebrate. "Life goes on, pimpin'" indeed. Check out the song here .
Fresh off his set at The Fader and Vitamin Water’s Uncapped concert, R&B it-boy Frank Ocean quietly released the new track “Blue Whale” last night on his Tumblr page. The Odd Future star continues to break our hearts with his brutal honesty, though this time without employing the trademark crooning that made him famous. Instead, Ocean speaks over a mellow beat, giving us yet another glimpse into his complicated mind. The singer just released his critically acclaimed solo debut, Channel Orange , back in July, and “Blue Whale” shows he isn’t [...]
Frank Ocean has had one hell of a year. Building from the release of his Nostalgia, Ultra last year, he became the most talked about RnB star on the planet by coming out as bisexual before releasing the fantastic Channel Orange back in July. And now we have a new song. 'Blue Whale' popped up on the internet today without any fanfare or explanation. The track certainly sounds like it could have been a song that wasn't thought quite worthy enough to appear of Channel Orange , but so high are Ocean's standards [...]
I probably don't have to explain who Frank Ocean is anymore. After releasing one of the best albums of 2012, opening the new SNL season and having one of the coolest music videos in times , his name should sound familiar. Though he is most known for his incredible singing he apparantly also does rapping, or at least he does on Blue Whale, a new track he shared on his Tumblr. The beat for Blue Whale could easily have been [...]
Everybody loves Frank Ocean because of his gorgeous falsetto — so what happens when the crooner turns to rap, with nary a note sung in that delicate voice of his? Turns out it's still pretty good. On "Blue Whale," a new track Ocean posted on Tumblr last night, the "Thinkin Bout You" sensation drops the same dark images that populated his last LP Channel Orange , tempered by a refrain where he spits ad-libbed variations of a simple "life goes on" refrain. Listen to the full song [...]
Frank Ocean's channel ORANGE was, within the context of a rap record, nigh on flawless. If one were to vaingloriously pick up on one niggling qualm with it, however, it'd surely be that there perhaps wasn't enough actual rap on there from the honeycomb-throated crooner. Ocean last night dropped the 'tropical vibes' of this one via his Tumblr – the very same site from which he issued that TextEdit statement – and it signals a return to the spit. Yet where his closest contemporaries may centralise their [...]
On Monday night Frank Ocean surprised his fans by releasing a new song called "Blue Whale." The former Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All star simply dropped the mellow track and gave no explanation as to what it is intended for (new album maybe or a mixtape or re-release of Channel Orange or maybe [...] Frank Ocean 'Blue Whale' Song Leaks (Listen) is a post from: RnB Music Blog
Out of the blue, comes an unreleased track from crooner Frank Ocean. This time he trades in those echoey falsettos for his ability to lick off some introspective rhymes. Listen after...
Frank Ocean has released his first new track since he unleashed Channel Orange , and it's a bit of a strange one. The backing sounds like it would fit in a revamped Rugrats movie ('Rugrats Grown Up'?) and lyrically it doesn't really do much other than suggest that "life goes on," which is a bit of a beaten horse really.
Frank Ocean uploaded a new tune on his Tumblr (peep that Kobe pic while you’re there) called “Blue Whale”. Here he raps instead of croons, and it’s still perfection over the smooth production. This was probably recorded on his own laptop, yet it’s more proof (as if you need any) of how talented this mysterious superstar is. Frank Ocean - Blue Whale by FrankOcean.net
Frank Ocean dropped "Blue Whale" on Tumblr today, which appears by all accounts to be an older demo produced by Midi Mafia. We've heard Frank rap on songs like "Oldie" and "She," but this is the most rap I've heard from Frankie on a record. Check out "Blue Whale" below and let me know what you think. Frank showcases his hood rat rhyming skills in this jawn to another sensual beat he made with his peeps. Dude doesn't have a sub-par track in his portfolio. Frank has become one of my fav artists of all time and at the risk of sounding very shallow, I hope he never starts talking with gay guy accent.
