In a somewhat amusing turn of events, it seems that Drake's father, Dennis Graham has leaked the tracklist of his son's forthcoming third album Nothing Was The Same. Evidently beaming with pride, and keen to share Drizzy's achievements with the world, it looks as if the elder Graham uploaded the photo above to his Instagram [...]

Although it's quite possible this piece of news means little to the near future of recorded music, we are hopeful that Frank Ocean and James Blake's appearances at Drake's fourth annual OVO Fest in Toronto means that the three have been in a studio together at some point. Let's not forget that Drake has collaborated with almost all of the past OVO Fest performers ( The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Nas, Meek Mill, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole and even Stevie fucking [...]

Drake is throwing a music festival in Toronto this summer, because Canada, right? The 4th annual OVO Fest (named after his October's Very Own label) kicks off August 4 at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre, with tickets going on sale this Friday (May 24) at 10am — and now he's fleshing out the line-up, adding Frank Ocean and James Blake to the roster. (They're both performing on August 4, while Drake will be hitting the stage with "special guests" on August 5. Last year's guests included Nicki Minaj and Snoop Lion , so they'll probably be pretty good this [...]

Drake 's got a busy summer ahead of him. He's working on new album, Nothing Was The Same , and preparing his fourth annual OVO Fest, among other things I'm sure. Today, we're receiving some word on the music festival, which will take place over the course of two days, Aug. 4-5. So far, we know that Drizzy is definitely headlining the second night while James Blake and Frank Ocean share the bill for the first night. Peep the flyer below.

Lately, music festivals have been stacking line-ups with artists from all ends of the spectrum. We've seen some huge rosters, but for his fourth OVO Fest, Drake goes for quality over quantity. For now, he's announcing that the fest will be a two-night affair. The performers: James Blake, Frank Ocean, and Drake. See the details [...]

Drake has recruited Frank Ocean and James Blake to perform at the 2013 edition of his annual OVO Festival, set for August 4th and 5th at Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto. Ocean and Blake will both take the stage on the 4th, while Drizzy will deliver a full headlining set on the 5th. Drake will undoubtedly surprise the masses with guests, as everyone from Eminem to Jay-Z to Lil Wayne has made unannounced appearances in the past. Tickets go on sale Friday May 24 at 10 a.m. EST at Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

Some of the ladies strolling the red carpet included a red-hot Rihanna, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift , both opting to show tons of cleavage, Beyonce in a black and white pant suit, Kelly Rowland looking stunning in a sheer black number, a dazzling Carrie Underwood [...]

Hello friends. Welcome to Friday Mixtape number 179. It's a blizzard out there today. I hope you this mixtape keeps you nice and warm. I took this photograph at Burning Man. It features a giant mechanical fire breathing octopus called El Pulpo Mecanico . The fire can be played like a musical instrument and each of the octopus' tentacles move up and down. It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The piece was created by Duane Flatmo. Download the high resolution version of this photograph . (8MB) Here my photos from [...]

And now, for something completely ridiculous. Last week, Chris Brown and Frank Ocean made headlines for all the wrong reasons when they got into a fight over a parking space outside of a Los Angeles studio. Ocean would go on to say he was moving on and just trying to find peace, which, of course, is great. What's also great is this newspaper clip on the scuffle, because someone obviously can't tell the difference between Chris Brown and Drake. Maybe they just went with some photos from Brown and Drizzy's bottle fight last year? [ via ]

words by Harold Scott There are two thing to consider with hip-hop news - not everyone is going to keep up with every story , and people love to make things connect . Following up on one of the most explosive weeks in the game for a while and in keeping with these notions, we thought it relevant to re-hash some of the bigger stories from the past seven days, and draw some parallels while we're at it. ![[PLAYLIST] The Best COVER SONGS of 2012](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4746635_lg.jpg)
Cover songs are still my favorite way for emerging bands to put their own sound on a hit song and get easy attention. However 2012 was for some reason a slow year for cover songs. Luckily a handful of bands did them well and left us with flipped and twisted takes on old classics and net hits alike. Here are my 10 favorites. What did I miss? Download the ZIP file ! NOTE: Some covers may have been released before 2012. The rules for my best of lists are [...]

10. Kurt Vile feat. Bradford Cox – “Freak Train” Atlanta, 2011: Kurt Vile takes the stage for the last time with the original lineup of his backing band, the Violators. Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox is in attendance. Vile brings him on stage and launches into “Freak Train”, resulting in a nine minute freak out of squealing guitars and unforgiving feedback. Vile, usually soft in his delivery, shouts the lyrics into the microphone: “Ride on a freak traaaiiin!” Fortunately, this song and five others from the set were preserved, and [...]
