The shittiness of Hangover Sunday's has been elevated to another level. CHEIFS-you're breaking my spirits. It's enough that I have to deal with the KU football program's ass whippings and disappointment, and now you go and do me like this? It's in no way fun to be a KU student as a football fan right now. "THINGS ARE WORSE THAN EVER!" (see "Dark Knight" press conference scene). If you're also in the land broken football promises today, I have some new Frank Ocean magic to cure the wounds. Frank hops on a [...]

My boy Frank Ocean dropped a new track titled Blue Whale via his Tumblr account that shows off his rapping talents as his spends the whole song spittin with just two occurrences of a 4-liner hook. It's a quick hittin serving of lyrics with no particular specific subject matter aside from a lot of references to beaches and oceans. I had forgotten that Frank is from New Orleans until I heard him say "and my home town flooded with just a little bit of water but my shoes still muddy", alluding to the after [...]

Frank Ocean dropping loosies on his Tumblr is not uncommon, but in this new joint titled "Blue Whale" we see him flex his rapping muscles as he spits two introspective verses over a smooth and mellow beat. Definitely a must add to your playlist, stream below.

Photo by Jeremy D. Larson Frank Ocean just took to Tumblr to release his first piece of new music since the Top Star-earning Channel Orange . Check out "Blue Whale" below.

Posting covers can be quite mundane but when the cover completely flips the script and turns the original into something nearly brand new, then we're listening to something exiting. Rapper Wonda covers the timeless "Thinkin' Bout You," by rapping. Take the jump and listen to the rework. Also, take a listen to the infectious Ryan Hemsworth bootleg of the same song. The added strings and synths make the song that much more incredible.

Couple of pretty good covers here from Harriet just for the hell of it on this fine Tuesday. There's really nothing better than when a band goes out of their typical style and bangs out a few covers with their own little spin on it. In this case, Harriet does a great job with John Hiatt's " Have A Little Faith In Me " and Frank Ocean's " Lost " in what looks to be somebody's back porch with only a few instruments, microphones and a stationary camera. Great sound though and if you dig [...]

The former Hüsker Dü and Sugar frontman has said it all before, even memorialized it forever now in his autobiography, See a Little Light . And from leading distortion-reinventing power trios to DJing IDM and even scripting pro wrestling for [...]

We have an incredible new music video for your daily dose of eye stimuli. The video is for Frank Ocean’s latest single Pyramids off his recent album Channel Orange . Pyramids is an 8 minute track that has a mesmerizing sound of a slow jam meshed with synth-funk elements as well as a righteous acid guitar solo brought to us by who else, John Mayer . The lyrical content of the song uses Biblical and Ancient Egyptian imagery to compare the fall of the legendary Cleopatra with the life of [...]
Three weeks seems like long enough for a holiday doesn't it? Sure it does. Sniff. Wah. But before I get on a plane and jet back to reality, let me break my no-posting stance and drop a little Frank Ocean-esque smoothness that DJ Neil Armstrong has put together. The 'Sweet' remix of 'Thinking Of You' is due to appear on Armstrong's next Sweet mix tape instalment, but you can cop it now if this is the sort of thing you're into. If not, jog on. Check the [...]
Flying Lotus just released an unfinished remix of Frank Ocean' s "Thinkin Bout You". He's calling it "Binge Eating Without You", and you can listen to it below. FlyLo's new album, Until the Quiet Comes , due out October 2nd via Warp.

Los Angeles rapper Mann did something pretty cool recently: he recorded a track that features both Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar . It's called "Bend Ya", and finds Frank on the hook and Kendrick spitting a minute worth of bars. Take a listen below (via Rap Dose ).

Been waiting for this for a while now, great to finally here it! Previously: Frank Ocean - Pyramids

Frank Ocean recently decided to speak with UK publication The Guardian Guide where speaks on his telling tumblr post , and more about what it has been like being one of the most talked-about men in music, with "enthusiastic reviews comparing his idiosyncratic, narrative-heavy re-imagining of soul and R&B to Prince and Stevie Wonder." In the interview Ocean states, "I knew that my star was rising, and I knew that if I waited I would always have somebody that I respected be able to encourage me to wait longer, to not say it till who knows when. When [...]

FRANK OCEAN’s debut full-length album has just dropped and the man has everyone talking about his smooth vocals, his heart and soul dripped lyrics and the classic R&B grooves. ‘Sweet Life’ comes to us as the third single off the Channel Orange LP. The track swings mid-tempo for much of the song, and gets full with more elements picking up throughout. The track has a masterful hand of its instruments bringing together live and electronic sounds creating these blissful electro-soul grooves. The man is also [...]

A lot of people are debating the merits of Frank Ocean 's latest album Channel Orange at the moment. Has he really modernised the slow-jam and made it accesible for the youth of today? Or has he just got lucky and found himself the talk of the R&B / soul world by a mixture of great PR and good timing? And what about his vague 'coming out' recently? Had he finally decided it was the right time to tell the world about his sexuality or was it [...]

There's been a lot of talk about Frank Ocean over the last few weeks, the majority of it I've not really paid attention to. I'll keep this quick: I couldn't give a fuck what Frank's sexual orientation is, but I say good on him for making his announcement. It might lead to some petty grief , particularly in a notoriously conservative country like the USA, but you'll hopefully open up a few minds too. There. That's my two cents. What I'm really concerned about is how his new [...]
Channel Orange has effectively exploded. The new album from Frank Ocean features a rampant number of guest stars, which include (as you might have expected) some from the Odd Future crew. "Golden Girl," featuring Tyler The Creator , is included as a bonus cut for the album, which is out now.

Frank Ocean did us all a HUGE favor by releasing his debut album " Channel Orange " a week in advance! Yesterday, Frank posted all his tracks on youtube for preview purposes and the bonus track of the day goes to his collaboration with his Tyler The Creator on Golden Girl . It's actually a pretty dope cut. I know a lot people don't vibe on Tyler but I like his robotic flow on this track, but its honestly all about FO. This will be on the amazon & [...]
