SBTRKT apparently whipped together this suped up edit of Frank Ocean’s "Whip Appeal" for his last gig in NYC last week. It's got all of Ocean's original euphemistic car-and-pretty-girl worship, just a little more RPM. ... read more
"PDA" is a song from Frank Ocean’s days of recording under the name Lonnie Breaux. Unlike his introspective, innovative output, the song is standard issue pop and, to some, may even be recognizable, as Backstreet ... read more
Fans of the Backstreet Boys will probably recognize this song as a track off of their 2009 album, This Is Us , but now we have good ole Frankie's version. Recorded during his "Lonnie Breaux" days, this demo was used as a reference track. Check out Frank Ocean's take on "PDA" below: Frank Ocean - PDA As a bonus, take a listen to the BSB version: Whose version is better? Sound off. Listen: Frank Ocean [...]

Frank Ocean can PDA all over me anytime he wants. Wait, does that even make sense? Whatev. This song is dope. It's actually an unleashed track from Ocean's earlier days, when he was going by the alias of Lonny Breaux. His sound has definitely evolved since then but I'm still loving this pop infused R&B. Frank continues to push out a story that's on a whole 'nother level than any other R&B today and is "frankly" only of a few I actually care to listen to. His sound in "White" is smoothly still and the beat carries the same. Like always, Ocean makes me wanna tear up every time I listen to him, but in a good way. Frank Ocean – We All Try I know, I know. This mixtape came out over a year ago. I know I’m past the statute of limitations on posting tracks from Frank Ocean’s Nostalgia Ultra, but fuck it I’m going to do so anyways. Without a shadow of a doubt, I can say that this was one of the best musical releases to come out in the past 5 years (and seeing [...]

In addition to producing for Ocean, Troy NoKa has produced for media darling Chris Brown. With a performance like that at SXSW's premier stage, it looks like he's poised to break out. "Whippin my stick... shift gear", I have a feeling Frank Ocean may not be exactly talking about driving just a car here. "Whip Appeal" was a track that was rumoured to be a bonus track on the also rumored re-release of nostalgia, ULTRA . Ocean's quote below puts a rest to both: Hahaha. A beautiful ballad we just wish was a tad bit longer. Stream this lovely below. Frank Ocean - White

Frank Ocean is talented, man. "White" is off of Odd Future's The OF Tape Vol. 2 , and although only two minutes in length, it's definitely one of the project's standout tracks. Hopefully Def Jam's newest president will get it right with this kid. Download Frank Ocean White Download Frank Ocean White

Frank Ocean continues to pump out those divine future R&B standards with "White", his lone solo entry on Odd Future's upcoming OF Tape Vol. 2 compilation effort (and, considering his groupmates, likely the album's only source of soulful serenity). Clocking in at just over two minutes, the song feels like a tease, but what a marvelous tease it is, with Ocean-backed by nothing but tender bursts of keyboard for a bulk of the track-flinging off left-field poetics about "trees talking like people" and waking up to bed-mates "tracing planets on [his] [...]
