I made a mixtape with all the songs that you hate. Besides being the new best mixtape name since Jack Mannequin's "The Mixtape, that lyric has stayed with me ever since first hearing Australia's San Cisco low-fi indie pop jam "Beach" and compelled me to push repeat for most of December. The band stopped by Dermot O'Leary's BBC Radio 2 show to perform the single (at the 6:00 minute mark) and a cover of Frank Ocean's "Forrest Gump. (at the 18:15 minute mark). I'm a fan. Listen below. In the past couple of years, R&B has found itself developing a strange relationship between its cold, technological, 80s self and its soulful Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye past. That combination has led to albums from the likes of Frank Ocean and The Weeknd receiving critical and commercial success, bringing R&B back from its mid-20002s malaise and creating a path for its future. In the meantime, Arthur Ashin's Autre Ne Veut [...]
"Eyes Like Sky" is a cut from the Channel Orange sessions ( according to Rap Up ) that got left on the metaphoric floor, but someone picked it up over the weekend and put it on the internet. Now you're reading about it, casually debating whether or not to listen. Or already listening to it as you read this, trying to decide if you think it should have been left off Channel Orange . Who is to say? Perhaps it's a bit plain, not quite as evocative as the likes of "Pyramids," or maybe it's completely unfair to pass judgement on [...]

Most albums leave numerous tracks on the cutting room floor, and this is also the case with Frank Ocean 's excellent debut channel ORANGE. As Rap-Up was eager to uncover, "Eyes Like Sky" is an unreleased cut from the channel ORANGE sessions and it sees Ocean exploring his spirituality amidst a hopeful acoustic soundscape. Stream Frank's faithful invocation below. For those anxious to hear more from Frank Ocean, he is apparently "10, 11 songs" into his sophomore album. Even more exciting is that he has [...]

Remember when all those Frank Ocean tracks leaked last year that were obviously from before he even dropped Nostalgia, Ultra in 2011? Well, now a previously unreleased, acoustic guitar-led jam from the Odd Future crooner has hit the web and it's apparently from his sessions for Channel Orange . And after hearing it several times, I can confidently say that the speculation seems accurate, though it also sounds reminiscent of Nostalgia, Ultra . Where "Eyes Like Sky" is from, I'm just glad we're able to listen to it now.

Keep Rollin Rollin Rollin Hunt on your mind. Unless you're a citizen of the fifth dimension, then you've likely never heard of the galactic R&B purveyor Rollin Hunt . However, that's likely to change. Arriving April 30th via Moniker Records (the label's eighth full-length release), The Phoney [...]

London-based producer Distinction made a name for himself last year with some notables remixes of PIMB favorites Danny Brown and Frank Ocean , among others. And now we can officially add Jessie Ware to that list, as Distinction has taken on the title track of her 2012 debut, Devotion . The tune focuses on her more breathy vocal moments, with some portions sounding like instruments instead of, you know, her voice . It almost reaches cloud rap levels of all-encompassing atmosphere and huge drums, which leaves me thinking the right MC [...]

Everyone and their mother has remixed Frank Ocean's " Thinkin' 'Bout You "— we're not complaining , just sayin'—so I'm just glad to see that someone's gone another route in flipping the Odd Future crooner's music. Lynchburg, Va.-based producer LAKIM has taken on Nostalgia, Ultra single " Novacane " and turned it into something completely different. Gone is the woozy vibe of the original and most of its vocals. Instead, LAKIM focuses on a chop of several lines, which swirl around a steady pulse.
![[Listen] Frank Ocean feat. André 3000 & Big Boi - "Pink Matter" (Remix)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4717280_lg.jpg)
To be a highlight from Frank Ocean 's already outstanding debut Channel Orange is an achievement in itself, but "Pink Matter", which features André 3000 , has now become even better. Serving as an Outkast reunion of sorts, Big Boi drops his remix of the crooner's smooth beat, deftly blending his raps amongst the funky basslines and sultry guitar riffs. It feels good to hear Big Boi and André together again. Stream the cut below. (via MissInfo )

Franky Baby made it happen. The remix for "Pink Matter" sees the reunion of one of the best rap duo's in the history of hip hop. A new Outkast album is well overdue, but luckily Big Boi is dropping solid albums in the meantime. Andre 3000 lays down some gem verses on various tracks, but not frequently enough. Let's be thankful for this everyone. FRANK OCEAN FEAT. OUTKAST - PINK MATTER (REMIX)

TRACK STREAM: Frank Ocean - Pink Matter (Andre 3000 & Big Boi remix) pubblicato su Indie For BUNNIES
As planned , Big Boi and Andre 3000 are back trading rhymes on this updated version of Frank Ocean's Channel Orange standout track, "Pink Matter". If you were worried about this living up to expectations: don't. OK, Three Stacks' verse is the same as on Channel Orange , but still . If Daddy Fat Sax is up for a real reunion, then it's bound to happen. It just has to. Please. Anyway, you can listen to the remix of "Pink Matter" below. [ via ]
Folks don't wanna leave one of our favorite songs of the past two years alone. And that's OK! The song in question, Frank Ocean's " Thinkin' 'Bout You ", was most notably remixed by Ryan Hemsworth and covered by AlunaGeorge . Today, we're hearing another rework of the track from Philadelphia producer Nommo. But you know, simply labeling this a remix seems to be selling it short. Nommo has essentially sampled the Channel Orange single into a glitchy and hypnotic IDM romp. Listen and download below. Download: Frank Ocean - "Thinkin' [...]

Sometimes I want to hear the same lyrics, but sung by a beautiful woman. • ALUNAGEORGE [FB] STREAM | AlunaGeorge - Thinkin Bout You (Frank Ocean Cover for 1Xtra Live Lounge) Posted by Duncan Jake.
AlunaGeorge stopped by BBC's Live Lounge to perform a couple of songs. The first is the title track for their new album, "Body Music." The title feels apt for the music, with it's aqueous soulfulness making me want to stand up out of my chair and get a little twisty. The second is a cover of Frank Ocean's "Thinkin Bout You," which they completely make their own. In their take, the song is filled out beautifully with effects and a keyboard that sounds like a steel drum, while also picking the pace up a bit. Withy both, it's hard [...]

Quickly falling in love with AlunaGeorge , you can expect us to gush over just about anything this duo is behind. Such as their recent cover of Frank Ocean's 2012 smash single, "Thinking 'Bout You" . Funking up the grooves and throwing in some hand claps, AlunaGeorge do a fine job of making this track their own. It was a rather intimidating tune to take on, but we feel they certainly held their own live on the BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge . Stream the stunning performance below. [ via ]
![[new]: Frank Ocean – Wiseman](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4688627_lg.jpg)
Frank Ocean wrote a song for Django Unchained, but unfortunately, it didn't end up making the film. No worries, Mr. Ocean shared the song on his tumblr . It's believed to be titled "Wiseman." I saw Django already (early screening came near me), and although the song is good, I don't think it would have fit in the film at any point. Take a listen below via Frank's tumblr .

Frank Ocean. Really, whose 'best of' list is channel ORANGE not on? But Frank is the gift that keeps on giving. Although Quentin Tarantino regretfully couldn't find a way to fit the song into "Django Unchained," even Frank says "django was ill without it." While I haven't seen the movie yet (saving it for Christmas Day like every other jewish person I know), I am just grateful Frank still gave us this song. Best gift ever. MP3: Frank Ocean – “Wise Man” (as [...]

Tarantino ha così spiegato la scelta: Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it. I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want [...]
