As someone who is involved both in the music blog-o-sphere and the LGBTQ community, I got about 10 texts, Facebook messages, calls etc. the morning Frank Ocean became one of the first openly queer individuals in the rap/R&B game. While this was very exciting information, in some ways it overshadowed the release of his first studio album Channel ORANGE, which technically drops today (though it had an iTunes “exclusive” release a week earlier). In the massive amount of press about which songs include references to his sexuality, the surprising support of fellow industry up-and-comers such as Tyler the Creator, [...]

From the start of “Thinkin’ Bout You” it becomes clear that Frank Ocean is going to re-establish the gooey, soulful vocal runs and stratospheric falsettos of R&B past, saving the genre from becoming rampant with infinitesimal, effects-heavy hook-providers for hip-hop. Throughout Channel Orange , Frank Ocean reclaims what it means to love hopelessly and reflects on the pitfalls of doomed relationships because he doesn’t do relationships on any terms but his own. After Ocean bravely posted a note publicly coming out online, his [...]

Given that Frank Ocean 's long awaited debut LP Channel Orange has been made available through iTunes, you probably wouldn't expect new music to drop. But, here we are, and "Golden Girl," a bonus cut from Channel Orange , has made its way online. The song, which features a devilish verse from Tyler, The Creator , is a physical release exclusive, but right now you can stream it below. Channel Orange is out now on iTunes .
Channel Orange has effectively exploded. The new album from Frank Ocean features a rampant number of guest stars, which include (as you might have expected) some from the Odd Future crew. "Golden Girl," featuring Tyler The Creator , is included as a bonus cut for the album, which is out now.

Ha! Look at Tyler and Frank gettin' it in. No homo. This is a bonus track that is, or was, going to be included on the physical copies of Channel Orange . I hear Target is refusing to carry the debut from Frank Ocean because of his last minute decision to release it early on iTunes. Sounds like discrimination to me. FRANK OCEAN FEAT. TYLER, THE CREATOR - GOLDEN GIRL
Here's a Channel Orange bonus cut called "Golden Girl," a breezy, loverlorn number featuring Tyler, The Creator doing a verse in his pitched-down devil voice. "Let's toast and listen to Michael Bolton," Tyler says. It's a physical-release exclusive, something you won't be able to get at your local Target (more on that below). Read More...

It looks like Frank Ocean 's surprise move to release his album channel ORANGE on iTunes a week before it's July 17th release date may have had some unforeseen repercussions. Huge retail chain Target is now refusing to carry the album, including a version with some bonuses. YouTube, the consolation prize of the internet, has a stream of one of these perks however. Check out "Golden Girl," featuring Odd Future leader and close friend Tyler The Creator , or perhaps its Tyler's alter [...]

Frank Ocean did us all a HUGE favor by releasing his debut album " Channel Orange " a week in advance! Yesterday, Frank posted all his tracks on youtube for preview purposes and the bonus track of the day goes to his collaboration with his Tyler The Creator on Golden Girl . It's actually a pretty dope cut. I know a lot people don't vibe on Tyler but I like his robotic flow on this track, but its honestly all about FO. This will be on the amazon & [...]

Earlier this week Frank Ocean surprise dropped his major label debut, Channel Orange , much to the delight of his fans. Today though a track that doesn't appear on the iTunes version has hit the net and it features Odd Future head honcho, Tyler, The Creator . Titled "Golden Girl" you can hear the track below via Hypetrak / hustleGRL . You can pick up a physical copy of Channel Orange next week on July 17th when it's released. If you want a digital copy it's available on [...]

Frank Ocean 's first studio album proper Channel Orange has been gaining a lot of press this week for all the right reasons. Deservingly so to, it's a pretty stellar offering of hook-laden, slick yet diverse and experimental R&B. The singer is starting to seem like a man who does things on his own terms. For example, when Def Jam insisted that Kanye West returned the favour of Frank's cameo on Watch The Throne and appeared on the album, Ocean refused - deciding it would be better to stand on [...]

If you haven't yet listened to / snagged Frank Ocean's Channel Orange than do so here and here . Also, tonight it's surfaced that Tyler The Creator's quick verse lives on the hard copy , so get out next week and support some more. In the meantime, give this 8+ minute foggy cut a listen, which starts off with the final sounds from the digital version of CO before transitioning into a tune dubbed "Golden Girl" that's capped up with a classically harsh verse from Tyler [...]
Were you one of the many people who copped Channel Orange off iTunes? Me, too. And while that's great and all-especially because the album is pretty brilliant-it appears Frank Ocean left one track off the digital release. It's "End/Golden Girl", a physical copy-only joint that features a guest appearance by his Odd Future brethren Tyler, the Creator . I'm a lil' sad that I don't have a legit version of this, but that's OK. I (and you!) can just listen to it below. [ via ]

Unless you live under a rock or were a victim of thunderstorm-inflicted power outages this week, you’ve probably heard about Odd Future affiliated R&B singer Frank Ocean’s big revelation over the Independence Day holiday. After one attentive blogger went to a listening party for Ocean's soon- to-be-released Def Jam debut Channel Orange and noted the selective use of male pronouns in a few love songs, Ocean took to his Tumblr account to release a letter originally meant to serve as the album’s “Thank You” section. In it, he detailed a friendship with another man that progressed into love and the crushing [...]

Frank Ocean of Odd Future posted the following letter on his t umblr that spoke openly about homosexual feelings he has. This makes him t he second openly gay member of Odd Future. Tyler, the Creator who has been banned from playing festivals in the past for allegedly being a homophobe tweeted in support of Frank taking this step: My Big Brother Finally Fucking Did That. Proud Of That Nigga Cause I Know That Shit Is Difficult Or Whatever. Anyway. Im A Toilet. — Tyler, [...]
