There's been a few remixes and edits of Fantasy floating around, but I haven't heard anything that I'd like to take into a club until Italian Le Nonsense set me straight with his re-edit. Upped tempo and lots of added percussion that lays over the original quite nicely, an exciting version of the blissful original. The download limit has been reached so grab your copy here , and while we're waiting for that to download let's enjoy the official video, hold on tight to your paint brushes fellas. [...]

Things got a little house heavy on FMB recently, which is good (as we mostly play house music) but time for something a little more worldly! Here we've got an effortlessly cool edit from Lebaron, reworking music legend Serge Gainsbourgh. Fans of Gilles Peterson will be loving this! Brup!

Hey, Something fresh for you this week for Frenchman 123Mrk. Future garage written all over this EP, a really interesting new sound and something that I think will really kick off in 2012. The stand out tune from the EP is 'Untroubled', sampled lyrics and a stop-start rhythm make this the best thing I've heard so far this year, I'd really recommend a purchase of this. Check it out: Peace out, Pete

We've been posting every new track from US outfit The Louder The Better ever since we first heard their work with the track You Know . Why? Because it instantly struck me as one of the more definitive and high quality french/disco house sounds of the modern scene. Really warm productions with generous bass and great sampling, each work sets such a high and euphoric mood. Their very latest track, Night & Day , does exactly this and more. Feel good french house, what more could you want? [...]

New freestyle from Common, on Cosmic Kev's Come Up Show, spitting over Jay-Z's "Streets Is Watching" and French's "Shot Caller".

Dusk at Mount Carmel Pond, Newfoundland Bonjour tout le monde, hope your weekend was well! The snow and sleet have stopped, the wind has died down, and Hot Biscuit and I have woken up to a pretty chill and relaxing Sunday. And with their being so many disgustingly good new tunes recently, we figured we'd post them as a Sunday Playlist so you can add a little disco to your day. Hope you enjoy. Goldroom's title track off his recently released Angeles EP should cure what ails ya, alcohol [...]

He works hard. He plays hard. The Great Scotsman of today's electronic music scene, Go Go Bizkitt! Ever since I first heard his work, I've found that it's always stood out in the french and disco house world. But lately his tunes are becoming even more unique, making it harder to clearly peg and almost warranting his own sub genre. Now I don't wanna suggest too much, cause lord knows there's already about a million sub genres so let's just skip that part and go right to his latest three uploads. Exciting tunes with big [...]

This is from the fourth album of Montreal's Maljube , entitled La Caverne , released towards the end of 2011. "Listening to La Caverne conjures images of stepping into the cavern with them; it is primal and vast, retro pop magnificence that sounds like edgy comfort from beyond." They have been nominated for a Bucky Award (CBC Radio 3) in the Best Reason to Learn French category. Download Synesthesie [...]

This charming, woozy little daydream of a song, the title track from French singer Soko's debut album, is the musical equivalent of a tiny patch of blue sky on a cold, grey day. Haunted by birdsong and ethereal slide guitar, its combination of clever production and deceptively simple songwriting enable it to be both lush and lo-fi at the same time, which shouldn't really work but does. Soko's quirky croon and odd lyrics – 'You look at me as if I was a freak, but you said you like freaky people, so I thought you might like me a little [...]

Whether you want an awesome new indie-pop song, whether you too want a "Brand New Start," or whether you just enjoy seeing pasty skinny guys in their skivvies, this track is for you. This band, Concrete Knives , is a French group that is catchy as hell, rugged and unrefined at times, but always honest. Let us know if you dig them and we'll be sure to swing around and throw some more of these guys on! Brand New Start | Support The Artist Word, Kev

Ninetynine has been hitting the grindstone lately, working hard on a brand new album that will be released soon this year on Close To Modern Records . I don't want to give many details away yet, but I have heard a couple snippets and it's safe to say that if you're any sort of fan of french, filter and disco house, you will love this new album immediately. Not making the cut of the said album, the Montreal producer has decided to give this latest track, Rotary , away for free. A french house heavy [...]

And here it is, in it's entirety. The Yelle Remix EP from modern disco/funk/house fiends Jackie and Kreap . We've been presenting two remixes a week up until now, and today we'll showcase the final two just in time for your weekend shenanigans. The great thing about this project is that it places the different personal styles of these two artist together in one package, providing an immediate and comparable insight into their unique tastes and sounds. And given that the original artist is the same throughout, it leaves [...]

Well boys and girls I have to say, January has been good to us. There's been a great amount of fantastic new music lately, and you might have noticed that we've been doing a few bulk posts to stay on top of it. And that's only in our specific field of genres, which prompts me to ask, has it been the same way with other genres that we don't cover? I ask this seriously because many blogs, us included , consider 2012 to be the year for a surge in indie, disco, french, funk and soul-based electronic music. If [...]

Anna Calvi's booming voice immediately received fanfare, both elsewhere on the Internet and here at AC. Today she gifted us with a new version of her pounding, swooping "Jezebel." The transition to French lyrics somehow makes the song even more epic. Enjoy, just don't crank the subwoofer too high. Jezebel (Version Française) by Anna Calvi
