Gifted new artist Devin's debut full-length album, Romancing, is scheduled for release on April 10th on Frenchkiss Records. Devin first broke out with his three-song EP for Frenchkiss, You're Mine, which received critical acclaim from Rolling Stone while earning him comparisons to David Johansen and Jack White. Named one of NME's "20 ...

Very excited to have a new (well, recorded last year and found this year - but new to our ears) French Kissing track to play on a neverending loop, to the joy and then chagrin of everyone I have ever met. The London trio have been quiet for a little while but the Nuggets-y jangle of I Want More is a welcome reintroduction back into our lives. I've loved their garage-surf finesse for quite some time, and this jam is no different, though erring on the side of The Kingsmen than anyone else. [...]
If you've been waiting wide awake for this, you will already know that The Big Sleep just released their new full-length LP "Nature Experiments" on Frenchkiss Records. If you're just finding this out now, you can check out the album on AOL Spinner, where it's currently streaming full-length. In addition, the first music video ...

Brooklyn, NY seems to be a draw for musical talent, and that is exactly where Devin is from. Devin is not just another name to add to the ongoing list of credible music acts that have surfaced out of Brooklyn. With all the indie/showgaze up and coming bands from NY, Devin gets back to that edgy raw Rock n Roll sound that has been missing for a few years. Devin Therriault is the man who makes up Devin. He brings with him a heavy dose of vintage guitar rock that is never shy. After taking [...]

Let's toast to 2011 and wish it a quick and swift goodbye. 2012..what you got? Dan 1) Fleet Foxes: Helplessness Blues Unless you've spent the last year religiously following Warped Tour around the country, you need not be introduced to Fleet Foxes' incredible sophomore effort Helplessness Blues . Seriously, every note on this album is impeccable (save for the [...]
Tweet vaso link One of the tracks that I kept coming back to this year was " Big Broom " by RACES. At the time when I first came upon it there were only, from as far as I could tell, two tracks by the band available. That one track though, and the B-side, were enough to keep me wanting more. Last month they did release an EP on Frenchkiss records that featured "Big Broom" as well as 2 additional songs that showcased their [...]
Gifted new artist Devin made his Frenchkiss debut this week with the three-song EP You're Mine. After hearing a track Devin recorded in his home studio, Frenchkiss label owner Syd Butler caught Devin's compelling live performance and signed him soon after. Says Butler of the signing, "We could not be more ...

Go on, say what you really think... ( French Kissing ; via SEXBEAT ) Let Yourself Go by frenchkissing

Young Man is the baby of multi-instrumentalist (aren't they all) singer-songwriter-hypen-enthus iast Colin Caulfield. He recently released his solo album Ideas of Distance off French Kiss records, which means it's bound to be pretty good. Colin is a bit of a self made star, garnering attention initially via a series of youtube videos. In these videos, he covered many songs, including this track by Allison's favorite person on Earth ever, Deerhunter: He will be opening up for the Cold War Kids, who are probably still living off the popularity [...]
My first exposure to French Kissing was "Oh, Suzanne" a darling little bit of 60s rock 'n' roll homage that made me reassess a lacking love in a certain popular genre. "Let Yourself Go" doesn't release the bands concise ability to ape the 1960s, but it adds a bit of a bitterness and a lip [...]

Loving this track by London's French Kissing . It's no hold barred, hook-heavy, edgy 60's pop done to a key. The garage vibe is perfect. Check out "Let Yourself Go" below. Supposedly, the band's got a new EP dropping soon, so keep ya eyes peeled. Facebook Let Yourself Go by frenchkissing

thanks to weekly tape deck for the tip on this one: it's called "let yourself go" by the london band french kissing . this is a great example of 60-'s brit rock done near perfect in the oughts. all day and all of the night, indeed. and in case you missed it, here's a track from about a year ago, "oh suzanne"

Just because the 60s garage rock style has become more prevalent in the last few years, doesn't mean its always done well. "Let Yourself Go" is done well. This track from Swingin' London's French Kissing steadies a rhythm and leans towards the snottier side of the genre while maintaining that 60s groove.

Holden Caulfield, J.D. Salinger's beloved, profane protagonist in the 1951 American classic Catcher in the Rye , has come to represent the struggle to balance innocence and maturity in a very teenage-angsty sort of way. Neo-folksy singer-songwriter Colin Caulfield, who goes by the moniker Young Man , shares more than a name with Salinger's fictional young man. His first full-length album, Ideas of Distance , was released on September 27 by Frenchkiss Records and is hauntingly woven with contemplative lyrics about growing up and finding identity. Young Man began [...]

French Kissing talk a lot about girls and that's okay because girls are complicated. Sometimes they like you, sometimes they don't like you, sometimes they buy shoes that don't fit. Their 60s inspired beach rock n roll sound is perfectly appropriate for this Indian summer we're having, and 'Let Yourself Go' is the latest in a line of such tunes. There is definitely a bit of 'All Day And All Of The Night' by The Kinks going on here, but when was that ever a bad thing?

I've spend the entire summer accidentally missing London's French Kissing , which obviously is a big mistake, but thankfully they're back (finally) with more music for us. They've got a new EP coming out, more on that later, and we've got a brand new jam from it to enjoy. Let Yourself Go sees French Kissing go headfirst down the Kinks rabbit-hole and manage to emerge without magically combusting into a Kinks cover band. This might be the best recorded I've heard French Kissing yet, and the moderate amount of fuzz does [...]

The Drums Portamento Frenchkiss Records [2011] Fire Note Says: The Drums return quickly with their sophomore effort Portamento . Album Review: Brooklyn's The Drums are back already with their sophomore effort Portamento and the record employs the theory if it ain't broke don't fix it. The band once again brings The Smiths, Strokes and surf pop blend on Portamento that works on [...]
