MPFree: Le Diamentaire – Fosse Commune (Feat. Olek Brown & J-Funk)

Le Diamentaire is a member of the French Hip Hop collective DansLaCuisine, which, unfortunately is about all I know about him. It's not that he's a mysterious and shadowy figure, more the fact that I can't speak any French. You could argue that this would hinder my enjoyment of 'Fosse Commune', but, whatever they're saying, it sounds splendid. Organ stabs judder and hang, while the bass rolls underneath, lending the track an almost fairground vibe. Best of all, the track is completely free to download! God bless the internet. You can listen and grab it below.

ALBUM: Don Da None – NÉBULEUSE(s) (France)

ALBUM: Don Da None – NÉBULEUSE(s) (France) Thanks to Don Da None, for reaching out with the above. French rap activist from projects like Connecticut with Fulgeance & Blockbass, or inventive trio called Triton, Don Da None is an Emcee who push up lyrics to a more "poetic" dimension, a real writen-meaning, spelling a rhyme like a movie. Smoking ambiances on "les Démons sont éternels", love mood on "Mélancolie" or seducing-shinny-darkness on "Nébuleuse"...The music around this lyrics (ok, you must learn french now...!) is clear, brilliantly sample-based from soul, classy jazz rarities, like if André Popp would meet Baudelaire for a automnal haschich evening. [...]
