She's baaaaaaaaaaaaack. With a not-so-new tune, but she's back! M.I.A .'s video for "Bad Girls", which appeared on her Vicki Leekx mixtape is out. Directed by Romain Gavras, who directed her video "Born Free", "Bad Girls" features lots of car stunts, gyrating, and desert. Good stuff.

Just in time for the long weekend we bring you some delicious tracks from the past couple of weeks. The Afrojack remix of The Wombats' Techno Fan is an absolute banger, while Mike Posner covers quite possibly the best Coldplay song ever written, with awesome results. We also threw in an indie jam by the Young Empires, and a guilty pleasure rap song by Uncle Murda - no, ridiculous hip hop is not dead! Techno Fan - The Wombats (Afrojack Extended Mix) The Scientist - Mike [...]

Oh baby I couldn't leave you alone all weekend to deal with the Rapture without any hot music. I'm going to need some bangers to cope with the ending of the world, and luckily for all of you I've spent the past week collecting some really fresh tracks. See, every once in awhile it's good to take a step back and stop posting every little track that tickles your fancy - and that's exactly what I did. At the end of the week, I found myself listening to these following songs over and over again, so that's when I decided [...]

See what ha-ha-happened was, we didn't get around to posting last Friday's mixtape. This is because we were too busy partying, and we're sorry for that (sort of). But this week, we took the extra time to make sure we brought only the bangers for you. 1975 by Zed's Dead is pure dubstep madness, there's the return of the Beastie Boys (hooray!), and a couple more favorite tracks getting play on our iPod's right now. Check it out and have a great weekend! 1975 - Zed's Dead [...]

Here's this week's picks for the weekend, starting off with the White Noise dubstep remix of Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang. It's got that spacey feel until the beat drops into pure party-electronica bliss. The Cults' released their new single, You Know What I mean, after long promising a new album for their most dedicated fans, and the song is sweet and excellent. Jump in the Pool by Friendly Fires has been in rotation here at Eavesdr0p for awhile, but we hadn't gotten around to sharing it until now. It's a mix of experimental rhythms and indie rock. Start It Up [...]

Systema Solar are among the latest of the bad ass Colombian bands tirando fuego from their homeland. This musical spitfire is the combination of a whole bunch of genres including cumbia, hip-hop, bullenrengue, champeta, house, techno among others (apparently) which they've dubbed "berbenautika". Adding Afro-Colombian vibes by way of Colombia’s Caribbean coast, you get a musical fusion that sounds as delicious as Colombian food tastes. The crew of seven met in 2007 at a celebration in Medellin and have since been touring Colombia. Their debut release, Systema Solar , is slated to come out [...]

If you read Boomboomchik a bit, you know I'm partial to some funk/soul type ish. So when my friend sent me The Dap Kings and Prince of Ballard remix of Jay-Z 's song "99 problems" I could only smile like crazy. With that smooth funk in the background, Jay-Z's rap-rhythm comes to the foreground. Let's forget that the subject matter and language are far removed from this kind of music, one that's all about chillin', having a good time, people spreading positive vibes around. But whatever: I got 99 problems, but this song ain't one. Happy Friday!

Upon listening to Blitz the Ambassador 's album, Stereotype , you can almost swear you are listening to a modern rendition of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" method. You are hit with live instruments including a brass section (!); certainly, there are emcees out there that utilize musicians in their albums, but something needs to be said about Blitz. The song "Ghetto Plantation" opens up with a Latin-inspired guitar solo almost a minute long; the hit "Breathe" featuring Rob Murat opens with a flute and a harp and not soon after [...]

I'm Mishal, hear me roar! After listening to Mishal Moore ’s opening set at Zee Avi’s show last weekend , I needed to know more about the woman behind the song “Makeup Sex”. Who is she, why does she play the guitar like a bass, where can I find more about this artist with such amazing breath control? The search for Mishal Moore was on, and it culminated with a Twitter and email exchange, the results of which are below. Moore is a Miami native who’s been based in New York [...]

Here's one fresh out the inbox. New York City-based chanteuse Yvette Rovira is gearing up to release her eponymous debut album this August. The Berklee College of Music graduate delivers an infectious and sophisticated blend of funk, R&B and pop. It's exactly what we need for a summer weekend. Here's "Let's Go Out Tonight" by Yvette Rovira: Happy Friday, Radio M.

Hooooowdy Ho, So what a crazy hot week it has been in NYC. The mercury never dips below 85 and I have heard it is only gonna get worse as the weekend comes along. Luckily some guy invented the air conditioner and saved humanity, maybe not the power grids, but at least I'm not sweating from head to toe when I'm listening to some tunes. hot hot heat or not, we received a ton of good music as of lately, so much that it is nearly impossible to keep up with it, that is why there [...]

Thailan is one of those musical finds that are akin to quantum mechanics - artists and music that are like atoms spontaneously coming in and out of existence. In that sense, Thailan is like Sade. She may not release a record once every two years but her music always sounds timeless, as if it were recorded just yesterday off of a MacBook. Thailan (full name Thailan When) has a wonderful back story to match her musical and artistic intricacies. Of Vietnamese and Chinese descent, she was born in a refugee camp in Bangkok. She moved around California [...]

Boy is it hot in NYC. When you add that humidity into the equation it is unbearable. And what sucks even more is that you have to walk everywhere (unless your loaded and take taxis). On a happier note, summer is never a bad time to enjoy some tunes that get your booty moving. So, I'd like to share with you two remixes of Katy Perry's "California Girls." I have to admit the song has grown on my since I first heard it (shhh! don't tell anyone), and getting a good remix is never bad either. With that in mind, [...]
The amazing Mexican singer-songwriter Ely Guerra is BACK after a six year hiatus with a new album called Hombre Invisible ("Invisible Man"). I had NO idea she even released a single called "Colmena" (above) in December let alone released an album last week which is available on iTunes. Peep this, peeps. Peace, Radio Morillo

Happy Friday/World Cup everyone. Here are a few tunes to enjoy for the weekend. Definitely check out the Alaine Johannes track, the TPC Remix as well as "Dice Toss". Tokyo Police Club - Wait Up (Boots Of Danger) (DOM Remix) Alaine Johannes - Endless Eyes Soul Litchfield - Dice Toss Esmee Denters - Love Dealer (Chew Fu Lets Make A Deal Fix) Hyper Crush - Ayo
