Yesterday Brooklyn band Friends hit the BBC Radio Live Lounge. While out in the UK they covered Sam and the Womp's dance heavy track, "Bom Bom." If you haven't seen or heard the original, check it out here . After a few listens, it's easy to say, Friends did a better version of "Bom Bom."

Friends just dropped a video for first single, “Mind Control”. It’s a take on those 80’s style British spy films, where lots of weird and random shit go down. I still can’t tell, if the chorus in this is the most annoying or suave of the year. The is off their upcoming debut full length. Friends - “Mind Control”

I openly admit I’m a ‘pigeon holer’, I like to categorise music. Heaven knows why. Perhaps it’s a sport or weird hobby. The point is I can’t quite do that that with this track. Friends is a tight-knit group of...friends based in Bushwick. The band formed after a bed-bug scare (I think everyone in NYC unfortunately knows someone with a horror story at this point) caused a number of the now members to live together for a week. While they waited out the (bed-bug) storm, jam-sessions were had, and Friends was born. Apparently there can be a silver lining to fumigating all your worldly possessions.
