Finally there is news on New York's Friends . The funky pop dance fun band who knows how to make a party at their live shows. I happened to see them play in Ottawa on November 24, 2011 . The band dropped a new single. Mind Control has that 1980s new wave pop "Prince" sound. The single is taken from their upcoming album "Manifest" which drops on June 5th on Fat Possum (WOW congrats to them being signed to a great label!!) Have a listen.

Hipsterband Friends made a very catchy tune with "I'm His Girl", which slowly got stuck in my head and now I play that track wayyyy too much. Still loving it though. Now they are finally back with another BIG tune. With "Mind Control" they probably will control my mind and make me play this funky piece of indie pop a lot. Stream it here and enjoy yourself!
Metronomy's worldbeating tour of nonstop jams rolled through Boston's Brighton Music Hall on Satuday.
