Photos by G. Shirley Manson of Garbage Garbage! One of the best bands of the 90s is back and kicking even more ass than ever. They played a sold out show at New York's Terminal 5 on March 22, 2013 and it was anything but garbage. The band played their first New York show in 7 years last May ( which I went to and was so awesome ), and they played 9 different songs last night than when they were last here! [...]
Need a solid alt rock album to get those summer juices flowing? Well, it's been a long time coming, but Garbage finally released their first full-length since 2005 with Not Your Kind of People . The Wisconsin alternative rock band is still lead by Shirley Manson with the vocals and Butch Vig on drums, and with this release shows that they've still got a lot to offer the music world. "Automatic Systematic Habit" opens up the record with a big electronic riff, and sounds somewhat poppy. Manson even comes in with some heavily vocoded vocals towards the [...]

Photos by G. I am so pleased to utter a sentence I've been waiting to say for seven years: Garbage is back! The alt-rock quartet made their return to the New York stage on May 22, 2012, with a way-sold out show at Webster Hall. In the mid-90s when Garbage first hit the scene, they [...]
Garbage shows it can still swirl alt-rock, post-pop and electro-dance beats in a highball glass of lip-busting attitude on this, their first album in seven years. The difference here is the band's newfound sense of angsty consequence. Everything feels turned down a little, with the guitars a little less scalding, the singing a little more measured, the rhythms a little [...]
Garbage may have been absent for seven years, but you’d never know it by listening to Not Your Kind of People.

Before you download, consider the fact that nothing we have heard from this project was to our liking. Yes, Garbage's long-awaited new album Not Your Kind Of People has leaked all over the internet. The fifth album (for some reason fifth albums are all leaking today) is more rock than experimental alternative music. Related articles Garbage's New Song Leaks! Hear A Snippet! Long ago I noticed that there seemed to be a significant portion of visitors to this outpost of mental noodlings arriving from the upper Midwestern US and parts of Canada. I've also realized that I often frequent the writings of folks from from those same parts of the planet. Having grown up in the American Midwest, I suppose that there is some common ground - similarities in temperment and mindset - that makes for more likely connections. Scientifically speaking, birds of a feather... During our most recent trips to my homeland, I have [...]
